I managed to watch 13 minutes of this before i could stand no more due to the infuriating and totally unnecessary music. That could have been very interesting and I'm sure that from a historical and anthropological perspective these mummies are indeed fascinating but WHY did the makers of this documentary have to make this crass attempt at sensationalising it with this utterly pointless background racket? In addition, those of us who are serious historian buffs are not especially bothered whether half the researchers are members of an ancient brotherhood or paid-up members of the Mickey Mouse Club. Totally irrelevant. I hope somebody makes a watchable documentary about this subject! I do take the point that others have made about the terrible handling of this precious material too. utterly disrespectful and totally unscientific.

I spoke with an archaeologist at Castelo dos Mouros once, and she explained how (at that time, maybe 2011) there was a lot of frustration over digs, because 1) there aren't many in Portugal even with it's incredibe history, 2) with good reason, the government was very. slow to approve any permits, and 3) most students would rather go to exotic places to work so it was difficult to find people to work them. It is interesting to see this team get such access so (apparently) easily.

The content and story of this documentary are very interesting but the documentary itself is so poorly done that it's almost not watchable. The music is annoying, the narrator has too many long monologues spiced up with sensationalism that is not needed to make the story interesting. I wish the archeologists would talk more about the findings as well. Too bad: (

So blame the people who poured quick lime on the remains, why? Did they stench? I could see sweeping the walls and floor, but this was a sad place that could have been left untouched. Why slam all the archeologists, if they had been white, would that have improved your opinions?

And David Bowie is an expert on seeing a corpse is he? What about nurses, doctors, ambulance, police and fire fighters. Family members especially in countries where people still die at home. Last and not least, undertajers, but no lets quote a singer who knows nowt about it.

I was born in Puerto Rico but I have a last name that has Portuguese origins and the other one can be traced all the way to Scotland/France they were rich for doing chainmail, they even had a family crest. Its awesome to learn the history of my ancestors.

The carelessness and disregard for preserving the mummies and taking care when researching them makes me think they're just after finding the gold and that's where their real focus is
