Once focussed ultrasound helmets come around, you'll basically be able to turn knobs and switches to lower anxiety and increase willpower or pain resistance - and every time you use it the helmet trains your brain to operate like this a little better on its own. So basically everyone will be a supersoldier. It won't be long, research into functions like this, funded by DARPA, has passed Stage 1 approval at the U of Arizona.
Of course, the same technology could also rewire you to be naturally more peaceful and serene, and we don't want that, do we? :D

Remember. This is ww2 training. After the war we took a step back. Thats rare. we didnt just fight dirty anymore. But respected the enemy and potential innocent casualties. No different than any other nation in history developing morality and self awareness. Sadly. Each side then decays into obscureness. They blend all lines of right and wrong. And its not against some force willing to condemn all mankind to its will. Its just maniacs pretending there is something left to fight for.

The old man is a little over the top. Training is nice, but starting it off with incapacitating one of your own by jabbing him in the eye is no training.
First show and start off slowly and later on there might be room for that. But if you voluntarily injure your own people without them gaining anything from that thats just bad training

NOPE! You must train them like they used too which included physical strikes to the potential soldier. These snowflakes won't go for that these days. Did you know the US Marines can't even yell at some recruits who may be sensitive to yelling. Seriously! They have cards they can present to the CO and the CO has to conform! That's the new Marines.

I knew at the beginning that Hanson would quit, A young kid who recently volunteered. The reality of being trained to kill sunk in and it was too much for him, I seen that same thing happen in Infantry school more then once

Anyone heard of the instructor who automatically handed the weapon back to the opponent in a real fight(years and years of doing this meant it was in his subconscious and he did it without thinking)

They fought their enemies face to face in every battle. They didn't rely on drones, night vision, or any of those things modern soldiers use today. Either kill or be killed.
