I have always been familiar with Peter Rabbit but wasnt until recently that I happened to watch the movie about Beatrix Potter, portrayed by Rene Zellweger. I immediately became a fan of Miss Potters! Watching THIS program reminded me how much I love Patricia Routledge, not just as that Bucket Woman, but a true British treasure. I was lucky enough to watch her dramatic skills at work when I saw her in two one woman dramatic productions on PBS. I was moved to tears in each of her performances. One word Awesome

I enjoyed your video of Beatrix Potter so much. I bought my son an anthology of her works over 20 years ago. I volunteered to read to his class and chose her stories to share with the children. I wonder if they enjoyed the stories as much as I did reading them to the class. Thank you for all the effort and information in the video. Well done!

I'm grateful I found this wonderful documentary. I only became sad at the end, seeing the new sketches for her unpublished book. They are rough, not soft & warm, & therefore don't reflect her original drawing style at all. It's also sad to me that a woman wasn't chosen since Beatrix had struggled so as a woman in that industry.

She was a very smart, business savvy woman.
I didnt know until I was much older that The national trust almost owes its entire existence to her, her efforts & her patronage.
Thank you Maam. Your works have been, & will continue to be appreciated for many generations.

I Think it's a shame that they did not get a woman whose drawing style closely resembled her style and that would have payed homage to Beatrix Potter's legacy. Neither have I ever liked the the style of the artist chosen and it make me hate it and never want to read it.

Beatrix Potter used her Vast Wealth from her family Mills, employing hundreds of little children, (My grandmother worked in one at 12. This is just like the Mafia and Cartels of today who send their children to Oxford, Cambridge, MIT and Harvard Business School

Well done episode! Only wish they had hired an artist with a similar drawing/painting style as Beatrix Potter. Kitty in Boots really needs a better illustrator - one that offers more than just scribbles and scratches with a splash of color! Very disappointing.

A charming history of an extraordinary talent well narrated by Ms. Routledge. I knew nothing of Ms. Potter in my youth but as the father of 4 children I developed a gratitude for her body of work while, as I read, 8 ears drifted to sleep and dreamed.

This was enchanting. I am 65 and still collecting all things Beatrix Potter. My mother read her works to me. I have introduced my children, nieces and nephews, and now great nephews and nieces. Beatrix has always been an inspiration to me.

I would have definitely loved if mrs heelis would have written an autobiography im sure it would have been delightful as she was a great writer. All we have now are imaginations of what she and who she was as a person an her life story!

I had the good fortune to visit Beatrix Potters little house in the lake district in 2016, definitely worth a visit if you are in that district. Then I went down the way and had tea with scones, preserves, and clotted cream.

So very glad I happened across this in between trying to keep up with the latest political goings-on and looking for recipes I might like to try. It was a delightful and inspiring surprise to learn about Beatrix' life.

I had a wild rabbit arrive in my yard so I made friends with him. I was going to name him Peter, but called him Bunny instead. because I didn't want him to end up in a pie. Bunny is loved by the neighborhood kids.

Have always loved reading and having books stacked up here and there. For me the writers become as much a favorite for me as their books. Beatrix Potter has always been so interesting.
