If the city falls, nothing can stop the Nazi's from winning the war in the East. That put me off this whole documentary, a huge exaggeration. Yes, the battle for Stalingrad was important and symbolic for the Soviets, but the Germans at this point of the war were having serious logistical issues and were spread extremely thin. It's not like the Soviets would have just gave up if they lost Stalingrad, they still had plenty of reserves and resources at their disposal and would win a war of attrition. It wouldn't have ended if Moscow fell either. Napoleon made that mistake. These kind of documentaries always make it overly dramatic like the Germans could have won any second, but the reality was they never really stood a chance.

I think we forget, and most people don't know, the Soviets were heavily financed and supplied by the Allies. So, without that, the Germans I believe would have annihilated them. They invaded the USSR with more horses than tanks. Which indicates they knew they were to be attacked, along with Western Europe, and had to take preemptive action. The Germans were better in both wars, just outnumbered and out financed.

Series like these are made for TV with loads of advertisements in-between.
If U are lucky, things being told will only be repeated like 3x, as if this is produced for heavily demented viewers only.
This massively degrades the often epic content of these documentary's, and makes watching, a constant repeating hassle.

Geography lesson in german school.
Teacher:
- Now, guys, who knows what's the largest city in the world?
A boy raises his hand:
- Stalingrad!
Teacher:
- Why Stalingrad?
- My grandpa told me. They were walking down a street for over two hundred days and still couldn't reach the end of it.

I must say that if you know anything about WW2 tank combat it's very apparent that the battle scenes on the screen are highly unrealistic and often don't even show what is being narrated. But I do appreciate the narration and interviews and strategic layout of the battles.

If anyone wants to watch a really in depth series on the Battle of Stalingrad, watch TIK's Battlestorm Stalingrad series starting with BATTLESTORM STALINGRAD E1 - The 6th Army Strikes. I think there are something like 31 episodes posted thus far with quite a few more to come.

Innuendos are so funny one of the. bla bla bla. Kursk IS THE Biggest tank battle in history. Period.
Do you think Alexander the Great had more tanks? In Stalingrad ONLY the USSR lost more soldiers than all the allies throughout the entire war. Let that sink in.

kv had somewhat thick armor? Try 2-5x the armor thickness depending on place and tank model: The kv has at least 130% the front armor of a panzer iv, which wasn't sloped at all, much less lighter tanks!

Am i wrong, or would the panzer ivs actually have had the short barrel 75mm, not the long anti tank barrel which I think came later, and is shown in the animation?

It's sort of amusing that only a couple of decades before the battle of Stalingrad, the same city was taken by one British tank, while Stalin himself scarpered.

Interesting documentary but the English voice translation is pathetic. Didn't know that psychopath Klaus Schwab needs to voice over documentaries to survive.

Why this dramatic effects? Does not help the story. And no, it was NOT the blodiest battle in history. Usual BS, stopprd watching after 3 mins.

So sad to slowly see go those heros who taught this terrible war. My respect to them is huge. They have all they had for survival.

Why not just encircle Stalingrad and starve them out? Seems like a tactical error of arrogance rather than anything else.

Timeline always skewing the truth Stalingrad wasnt the last tank factory. Stalin had the factories moved to the Urals.
