This is truly amazing story of the human will of Two fighter pilots who live through battle wartime and only one survived War. Unfortunately one who survives the jungle to only die accidentally. And such a sad ending for him. And the vowel by sekai to never kill another living thing again including a mosquito. Was a Monumental saying. I can only admire that. If people would have that value for life today I honestly believe that maybe they would have respect for others lives as well as their own. And the struggle for which that takes to survive.

interesting tale of 2 Pilots putting their lives on the line and achieving the almost the impossible - impressive. As for the reason why Pug didn't fire is in my view inconclusive! Considering the Wild Cat had 6 Machine guns, and accordingly 6 feed mechanisms, one damaged bullet or feed mechanism would not stop all all guns from firing. In fact some fighters of the era could select which guns to fire. I think he was simply out of Amo, along with one or maybe two jammed guns. Dear director please review your script and reshot this story.

it's seems 2 me almost, yes, truly biblical that all these things are being revealed in the last 10-15 years amazing things are being discovered & revealed & answered, it's like the scripture that talks about 'all things will be revealed in the end' 'all truth will be exposing evil' I mean to find the wreckage gun bullet the damage its just UNIMAGINABLE not unbelievable because it's true & has happened! But UNIMAGINABLE because who would even think of these things coming to pass except. in a dream!

I think the Japanese pilot didn't fire when he had the chance because the American pilot spared him or that's what he thought so he thought he owed him one so he didn't fire that one time that was it after that he fired but he give him his chance but then when he seen the Americans start to maneuver again for more combat than he finished the plane off but I think that's what it was I think that's why he hesitated

So sad all these true warriors are dying needlessly because we keep electing politicians to lead us rather than heroes who truly understand what courage and sacrifice is. But more importantly, who understands humility when the fate of humanity is at stakes. Our leaders rule with too much power when the only time they see red is at the tip of a pen and not a sword.

Even a fourteen year old could figure out things to be fixed in America: many challenges can make use of individual potential!
But NO: the trend is for America to pretend to solve the problems of the world under a free world banner!
World War II appears to have had a positive impact globally so THE WARFARE CONCEPT GETS USED GIVEN ANY OPPORTUNITY!

The wildcat wasn't a really good playing as far as a father it was too heavy it wasn't very agile successor the hellcat was a far superior machine hellcat was one of the what was the best naval fighter in the war some say it was the best spider in the war but I don't think so the P-51 mustang was hands down followed by the supermarine spitfire

I'm gonna disagree slightly with the conclusion that the. 50BMG round exploded, or had an Out-of_battery detonation. Had that occurred, there would be almost nothing left of that round. Maybe the case head, forced backwards in the explosion at a high rate of speed, but that's about it. Further there would be nothing left of that link.

My uncle may have watched this fight. He was a marine at Guadalcanal. He spoke of watching dogfighting from a ship as they were coming in and how the planes would just disintegrate as they hit the water. Were he still here would love to ask him more. He spoke of living with cannibals for a while but I thought that was New Guinea.

Not 'find out' but 'interpolate probabilities based on surviving evidence subject to significant deterioration'.
Because if nobody 'found out' for certain before the pilots involved died then we cannot now ever, know for certain unless we are prepared to accord credibility to records attributed to those pilots.

The Americans understood the long range of the type 21 Zero, because they recovered a complete example from the carrier Junyo that crash landed in the Aleutians. What did confuse the Americans was the presence of the short ranged type 99 dive bombers during the initial Japanese air strikes.

In war time, things are indeteminate, unpredictable ane often confusing - even if all that is to happen next is under a plan. because time is of utmost importance. mathematical calculation is another. Approximation doesnt really work reliably in dogfights like this - accuracy does.

The cockpit of the Zero was probably as or more important than the rest of the aircraft. It definitely helped to have a higher degree of visibility. Many early models of US, UK and German air crafts were modified to equal the Zero's visibility.

As a kid, I was an avid reader of biographies of WWII fighter pilots, and read accounts by both of these pilots. I did not connect the two accounts until I first saw this video. I knew both stories but did not know how they intersected.

Great piece. As a veteran television journalist who focused on recreation and the outdoors, I recommend that people unbuckle their packs before they ford a stream. If you fall over with 25 or 30 pounds on your back, you could drown.

I have seen her. The left want to protect each. In the day with cameras and cellphones running you can't get away with things like that. Sad, Trump put with all kinds 9f harassment. She didn't even get a slap on the wrist.

Having 1 damaged gun out of six doesnt stop him from firing the guns it just means he cant fire the guns on that side of the plane he still has cannons in his other wings that arent damaged

Soooo if Sutherland actually survived, was rescued and continued more flights during the war he had to have told the the story to someone on why he didn't or couldn't fire at tje zero!

No words can describe about valor, discipline, dedication etc of both the soldiers. A credit to their nations, societies and families. Its an honor to have meet them in person.
