Look, I realise some other people will have told you this already, but quit with the end of the Eighties crap and MAKE ANOTHER ONE! There was no Year Zero, zero hadn't even been invented back then, and just as the first ever decade ended at the end of A. D. 10 ( NOT the end of A. D. 9, so too the 1980s ended at the end of 1990, NOT at the end of 1989! So hop to it!

February of that year my folks and I moved into our new place. I was in the 4th grade at the time an I hated it because I would be leaving a lot of my friends and stating a new school. It worked out because I made new ones and to this day I am still friends with a lot of them.
