The vast majority of the entire fossil record is made up of bones, not fossils. This is conclusive evidence that most dating is way off. It simply isn't possible for bone matter to exist hundreds of millions of years. Not even close.
Interestingly; We have no stories of the now famous Tyrannosaurus Rex, nor do we see any reptiles or mammals today with shoulder joints in front of their rib cage, as the T-rex skeletons have been assembled.
There doesn't seem to be any logical explanation of why the bones would be assembled as they were outside of the presumption that there were arms or claws.
We DO however see bird bone structures with such bones over their spine, supporting wings of mostly cartilage. Not over their ribs, as was done in the case of the T Rex.
If one were to reconstruct the T-rex bone replicates in accordance to how birds bones are assembled, it would resemble the North American Wyvern. With large wings on it's back rather than useless stubby arms off his front.
Of course Wyverns are recorded only in myth, and the stories do not come from the same region as the skeletal remains such myths would seem to be describing. Even if it turns out they happened to be correct.

My late Grandpa, who mined coal in West Virginia for almost 40 yrs, from the 1930's to the 1970's told they once blasted a section of coal and uncovered something that looked like and giant snake that was as big around as an oil drum and ran from one wall of the tunnel across to the other. He said they weren't sure whether it was a snake or some sort of tree, but it looked more like scales to him. I asked what they did with it and he said they ground it up with the rest of the coal and filled it in the cars like everything else. To the bosses, he said, coal is coal and they didn't have time for anything but digging coal. They didn't have time for people stopping production to look at every fossil. Apparently the mine he worked in was full of fossils. Kind of sad really.

Imagine if these were here today. Like there's so much to think about in the fact of. we would be so desensitized from it because of it being a normal animal in our everyday lives but also makes you wonder if they were still alive how would us as humans have adapted with that? Would we have been the same size and would've had snake proof housing and communities? Would we be a bit bigger through adaptation thus evening things out? Would we even be in any danger because were mere snacks to these ancient giant? There's so many things to account for with no easy answers but its still a crazy theoretical that I enjoy thinking about to often.

I live in Indiana, just across the Ohio River from a place called Big Bone Salt Lick in Kentucky. It contains pleistocene era fossils of Mastodons and other species, some of which were first discovered there. I row over and check out the creek beds around the place and have lots of great specimens including a portion of tusk and a tooth that belonged to a mastodon.

FYI though, How many times bigger can a snake eat?
When they do capture prey, snakes can eat animals up to three times bigger than their head is wide because their lower jaws unhinge from their upper jaws. Once in a snake's mouth, the prey is held in place by teeth that face inward, trapping it there

it's almost incomprehensible how much is just lying beneath the surface of the earth and oceans. imagine the discoveries 300 feet below the sahara desert sands, or 100ft below the sediment of the mariana trench. it saddens me that 99. 9% of all fossils will never be unearthed.

Amazing how much information it is possible to extract from one stone. You guys must be gods or totally deluded. You think that there are only dumb people out there who do not think for themselves? Happy fairytale grown up-life!

. DC is very clean for the most part. My grandmother lived in Fairfax and my cousin is a state trooper living in Gainesville. I've spent a lot of time there. It is actually one of the better kept cities

I was picturing a scene more akin to some miners removing a layer of rocks on a wall only to uncover a ferocious gigant snake launching at them jaws wide open but this is also pretty interesting.

A bit like Wales then, there aren't any rats in Wales, only big mice - a rat in Welsh is called: llygoden fawr, which translates to: big mouse.
