BTW he was given a dispensation from the Pope to marry Catherine in the first place. then he was askedt to annul a marriage to an infanta of the most powerful royal house in Europe. Pope Clement was between a rock and a hard place. he had Catherine's nephew Emperor Charles breathing down his neck daring him to insult the Spanish royal house by saying his aunt had been living in sin for the best part of 20 years.
reply

What Henry did to Catherine was unconscionable. She actually won wars in his absence, in his name & for England.
Once he did what he did to her? She lived in abject misery, but was a pillar of strength to all that knew her.
A strongly religious & principled woman, that Catherine of Aragon.
And as strong as women come- with advanced apologies to every African-American that ever had a mother.

You missed one huge detail. After Edward died his sister Mary Tudor was crowned queen and proceeded to go on a years-long mission of burning every protestant she could find. They called her bloody Mary. After she failed to produce an heir and was dying, she named her half sister Elizabeth as her successor. It's very important to get your facts straight before making these videos!
reply

No offense, but how do you miss one whole queen, or two, depending on your point of view?
Edward didn't leave his throne to Elizabeth. He left it to Jane Grey, who held it for only days before Henry's first daughter, Mary, became Queen. Mary held the throne for several years until her death. Elizabeth then inherited the throne from her half sister not Edward.

reply

12: 58 Henry VIII s son Edward did not leave the throne to his half sister Elizabeth. He left it to his cousin, Lady Jane Grey who only ruled 9 days before Henry VIII s oldest daughter Mary usurped Jane and had her executed for treason. Mary, aka Bloody Mary, ruled for less than 10 years before dying at WHICH POINT ELIZABETH BECAME QUEEN.
reply

Edward IV left his cousin Jane Grey, the Nine Days Queen as his heir, but Mary I fought this and reclaimed her spot in the succession as left in Henry VIII's will. Elizabeth I succeeded her half sister Mary I.
reply

There's only one thing wrong. After Edward's death, Mary, Henry's daughter from Katherine of Aragon, became Queen. After her death, then Elizabeth I became Queen. Otherwise an excellent job.
reply

Great video, but Edward VI actually left the throne to Lady Jane Grey who reigned for 9 days before Mary imprisoned her and took the crown.
reply

Wait no. When Edward died, Lady Jane Grey became a bit of a pseudo queen for a few days before being overthrown and executed by Queen Mary.

Opted to read comments before watching and after seeing the inaccuracies regarding session, I've decided to skip the whole thing.

I don't understand why the people in the little island of Great Britton have not learned yet what ROYAL PARASITES are all about.
reply

The British really look at the royal family and all the terrible things they've done and still won't depose the monarchy.
reply

For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life
reply

The last sentence about Elizabeth succeeding Edward is incorrect. Edward was succeeded by Mary who was succeeded by Elizabeth.
reply

The ending was wrong. After Edward died, Mary became queen for a few years before she also died. Then Elizabeth was crowned

It really is a soap opera. except without the soap. Because it's well known that ppl didn't bathe regularly back then.
