Very, very few humans truly live in wild places.
Even rural areas have been to a large degree settled and domesticated by mankind.
If you want to understand the primordial relationship of man and bear,
you must look to the epoch when our species lived in closer proximity.
To the era of hunter-gatherers, which in the case of Alaska,
is a lifestyle that persisted into the last few centuries.
Eskimos and Aleuts were well aware of the dangers of interacting with bears,
and I bet never pet wild bears, shoved their fingers in their faces,
or kissed them on the nose.
Bears were to be avoided, killed in defense, or harvested for resources.
So Treadwell was not harmonious with nature,
as the indigenous people most in concert with nature would never do such things.

In his mind he had become a bear whisperer and Tarzan amongst the bears. The problem with that is that again, that narrative existed only in his mind. He enjoyed the adrenaline that comes with doing something most people wouldnt dare to do. People with this personality trait take warnings as praise, the more you tell them not to do it, the more they are going to do it. Such behavior becomes a fine line between life and danger, a fine line between reality and delusion. Anyone that finds themself walking such fine line needs to take a step back and do a reality check.

I think part of him knew he was gna die when he went back to camp late in the season. He would always say I will die for these animals. He said he was troubled I think there's a chance he gave himself up to the bear as a sacrificial food source knowing the bears were trying to eat what they could before hibernation. Amy his gf was apart for the ride and she was scared of the bears. I heard they found 3 or 4 ppl in the bear that killed Tim and Amy. Idk if this is true but if it is that's pretty scary

it is sad what happened to Mr. Treadwell, but he took unnecessary risks, constantly putting himself in harm's way. I'm all for environmental conservation, and ensuring that animals are protected, but it has to be done safely. What Mr. Treadwell did was to completely forget that these savage, wild animals were not his friends, and he was not one with them (as he often stated) The bear that killed Timothy did what it is that wild bears do - they kill if they feel threatened or are hungry.

I watched Grizzly man the documentary and I must say that Timothee was one of the most peculiar characters I ever came across as an actor, I could never forget the impact he had on me after watching this movie, how stunned I was over this man's extreme behavior and how he chose bears (wild as they are as animals) to be his friends. People would do anything to fight loneliness, anything.

Grizzly bear man had it coming due to invading bear territory and thinking hes special/invincible in a bear hunting area where bears are hungry and cant freely hunt due to hunters shooting for sport all the bears they target in their territories

I heard the supposed audio and its not easy to listen to. Sad that getting lucky for over a decade had him become way overconfident and not being protection. Bear spray and the biggest caliber I could comfortably carry wouldnt even put me at ease

He was able to cohabitate with these hungry bears for a very long time without incident. There's something to be said for that. Nevertheless; if the bear has to choose between you and starving to death, it's you every time

He was certainly deranged, you have to be so to stand so close to the most powerful animal of the continent, than can kill you in seconds. He was loving the thrill I think. There was no other way it could have ended.

I think mother nature deems Mr Treadwell and his his like minded love interest unsuitable and sorted them out of the genepool and fed her bear at the same time. She is very efficient sometimes.

He should have given the bears their space instead of having diluted thoughts he was a bear whisperer. Just like people who do cage shark dives they are provoking another predator into a rage.

Bear in mind Grizzly Man was out of his mind he played with the big bears and in the end he was lunch while he was being Torn to Pieces he had to grin and bear it
