My family is from Wilmington, NC as a kid my grandmother would talk about what happened a little but not too much. She would just say her mother left with her neighbors to hide in the surrounding swamps while white folks shot and killed black folks and pillaged their businesses and homes. Sounds very similar to the Tulsa Massacre. My family moved to Rosewood NC for a few years then came back to Wilmington 3 years later to start over. As I grew up and went to school in Wilmington none of this was taught in school I didn't learn the full story until I went to college and took an African-American History class. What a damn shame white people tried to erase this event from history just like Tulsa. Glad these events are coming to life and being told. But the sad part is it's so many stories like this that are not told.

I've always found it unexplainable that the SAME Party that propagated Slavery, formed the Confederacy & the Klan, lynched blacks, wrote the Jim Crow laws, instituted Segregation, and filibustered for 75 days to BLOCK the 1964 Civil Rights Act is supported overwhelmingly by Black Americans today. And lest that be accounted to 'ancient history', GENERATIONAL WELFARE is the brainchild and foundational policy of this Party, and has wrought PURE DESTRUCTION on the Black Communities for the last 50+ years.
But for some inexplicable reason, Blacks STILL Vote Democrat as if the last 200 years of History didn't occur.

30 years it seems like Black People were accelerating, prospering.
The bigger Crime is nothing was done to fix this.
McKinley worried about States rights? Shaky Repub Governor?
Nothing.
Democrats do the same thing today.
They tell Black People that
White Supremacy is a huge Problem. I would say ITS THEM!
The Nerve of them to speak on Racism.
How they carry the Black vote still is amazing.
Democrat Party
should be liquidated and these families paid.
Republicans should be abolished for inactivity, except backstabbing Trump and America.
403 years.

The north transformed the south, they didn't rebuild it. Tearing up railroad, factories, confiscating farm equipment and livestock, etc isn't rebuilding it's guaranteeing poverty and economic subservience that lingers to this day. It made sure the south didn't rise again but it also made sure southerners of every race suffered. It was an unnecessary action to take if the goal was to unite the country and change the south's political and social system.

Look at all the imbeciles in the comments not understanding that the Democratic party back then were the conservative party. This is a tactic used by white supremacists to spread hatred of minorities. As a former white supremacist, misinformation like this is quite easily disproven, it just takes an hour or two of research in to U. S. history. Granted, Democrat politicians are still scumbags that only care about their own wealth.

History Doesnt Repeat Itself, but It Often Rhymes. And looking at the current landscape today, history is rhyming pretty damn hard. And the reason you don't speak out against it is that, at best, you find it politically advantageous. And, at worst, agree with it. In my mind, both excuses make you just as monstrous as the folks in this video. And, if you didn't know before today, well, now you know. What are you gonna do about it?

Nothing but yet so much has changed.
These groups of people still actively try to oppress Americans due to race by making them dependent on the government. Their attitude towards other Americans on the bases of race hasn't changed. Just the way they implement their racist and oppressive behavior has. They're smart they know they can't do a direct approach like they used to. They have to hide it make it subtle.

Lived there for 2 1/2 years. Even if you're unaware of the details of this incident, the presence in the area is as thick as fog. Coming from a black man who lived there in the 2020s. Locals, white and black, are descended from those involved, and ONLY after the events of last year have significant changes begun. It's almost as if the spirit of town is completely rooted in the massacre.

It's amazing to see the democrats using the dame tactics today.
Same hate, same fear and guilt tactics just the flip side of the coin.
They learned they needed to flip the vote in the 30s with welfare and the new deal. Have them voting democrat for the next 200 years it worked.
Vote for me or you ain't black. I mean how ignorant of a society we are.

Politics hasn't changed much. In fact, Democrats are still the oppressors. Look at any inner city where the streets aren't paved well, the schools are terrible, and people are oppressed, and you will find Democratic leadership. They figured out a way to dominate and control black people while PRETENDING to be their friends.

History is always written by the winner of conflict having lived in north carolina for over 20 years I only learned of the real history of this incident a couple years ago while on a trip to the beach I am at least thankful we live in a time when we have access to multiple media outlets so that we may decide for ourselves.

Luckily I was from a generation where this was covered in history books correctly. And it's ironic seeing as progressive as Wilmington is these days. It's a very left wing city. Of course I live about 70 miles from there but this is still a scar and stain on my states history

Those who don't learn from History are doomed to repeat it. Nothing has changed. The Democratic party still uses fear to win votes and utilizes the media to further the narrative. If you don't agree with them 100% you are a bigot, and a traitor. It's quite disgusting.

It's actually kind of amazing that the US has only had a few coup attempts and only 1 successful coup. Some countries like Thailand, France, greece, and half of central America go through coups like most people go through socks.

Do a video about how Repubs and Dems switched sides. Dems used to be the racists but now make attempts on increasing human rights. Repubs used to be the ones supporting blacks now they slaughter them in grocery stores.

funny thing is that nowadays democrat voters believe they are on the right site of history, while supporting the racist party who founded the kkk and breeded out the black mass murder industry planned parenthood.
