Evil tyrant, hands-down. For him to have so cold heartedly taking the right to Kings Ayres from Elizabeth Woodville and declare them illegitimate, is an evil act onto its own. There was never any evidence that their marriage was not valid. With that being said, it certainly lends credence to the notion that he either killed the boys in the tower or had them killed on his behalf. Also, it should be noted that during the medieval period, people couldnt exactly discern between different ailments. We all know what scoliosis is, but to the people back then, if he wasnt formed like the norm, then there was something wrong with him innately. Though we know that is not true today, even if he was missing a toe or a finger, they would still have said the same of him. I like the idea of the white York rose combining with the red Plantagenet line. I wonder how much different things would have turned out to be if Prince Arthur had survived to become king and Henry had stayed with or joined the priesthood.

No way did Richard Kill those boys; there was simply no reason. Richard never asked for the crown, it was thrust upon him by a faction of the people. What some people don't realize is Richard had more than 2 nephews. The last one Prince Edward, son of George had a stronger claim to the throne than either Princes in the Tower, and yet Uncle Richard protected and provided for him and his siblings. He was even knighted at York by Richard in September 1483. Years later, after the horrid death of his uncle, Richard iii, Henry VII imprisoned and beheaded 18 year old Edward, the 17th earl of Warrick. That's right! it was Henry VII. Now if Henry could imprison a 10 year old child, and then at the tender age of 18 chop off the head of that child, doesn't it seem more likely that he killed the Princes in the Tower too? And then created a smear campaign to get the people to hate Richard. It wasn't enough just to kill him, he had to completely destroy his memory as well.

He was known as Crookback Dick but not as a hunchback. If you read The Daughter of Time by Josephine Tey. It'll fill in some of the gaps in your knowledge. There was no good reason for Richard to have killed his nephews. The tide wasn't turning against Richard. Stanley's betrayal of Richard wasn't down to a charge. He simply held back. Richard died while bravely charging at Henry Tudor. He'd almost reached him when he was hacked down under wieght of numbers. Your narrative is of little historic value. Incidentally, when Henry became king he stayed at Woking for a while before meeting an marrying Richard's niece Elizabeth of York. The reason was that it was rumoured that she was pregnant by Richard and Henry's mother wanted to make sure she wasn't. You really ought to research your subject more thoroughly.

I personally studied Richard lll for my A-levels, very interesting life. Its worth mentioning that in technicality Edward V (son of Edward lV) never became king officially. His coronation date was consistently pushed back before Richard finally became king. The most the child got was a declaration as King by his mothers (Elizabeth Woodville) closest supporters. Edward never officially coronated and so therefore it can be argued that Richard never stole the Crown. But, in truth, theres more to it than meets the eye.
Edit: I just want to add that there were more than two princes in the Tower of London and not all of them were definitely not murdered by Richard. The Tower of London is also a royal residence aswell as a prison.

FYI it was on CNN and it hit the U. S by like late morning early noon. And those who knew history were like. ahem. I'm not laughing. Nooo that is not a smile. this is serious not funny at all snicker

Richard III had a bad rap and most likely could have used a good publicist (think Goebbels, Dick Cheney or James Carvel Jr) In his corner.
However back in those days being king was a very powerful position. Like Rameses I So it has been written, so let it be done. Who needs a press man anyway? Gutenberg was just beginning to get rolling as well.

1: 26 WEIRD HISTORY - YOU MUST UPDATE THIS! There actually IS evidence that he had a hunched back or severe form of scoliosis! So that part has turned out to be quite true! They found his bones in a car park (parking lot) somewhere in England, and determined without a doubt that they were his bones, and he had a major spinal deformity.
reply

Scoliosis proposed as a diagnosis weird it didn't affect his battle abilities in an age where physical disabilities were considered a sign the devil had touched you, getting people to trust you would have been nigh on impossible. I wonder if any of the damage to his body happened then after Henry's 7th got ahold of him.
reply

I dont see why Richard has so many supporters of his innocence. I mean he def deposed the kids based on a flimsy theory. What does a usurper do with the rightful king? Yeah. There cannot be two kings in one country. You think he would just let the boys live when the country had been through civil war after civil war?
reply

1: 37 Richard had no significant physical deformaties to speak of. Not at all correct. We have his skeleton and know he had a rather severe case of scoliosis in his thoracic spine. One of his shoulders was noticably higher than the other. He was not a hunchback, but neither was he normal in appearance.
reply

Not true at all that he didn't suffer significant physical deformities, and this error is all the worse for coming after the discovery of his skeleton, which the video refers to. It was not a mild spinal curvature, it was a quite severe case of scoliosis.
reply

Not even 2 minutes in and you failed. HARD! He 100% had a twisted spine and his right shoulder was higher than the left. aka, a hunch! LMFAO! Look up RICHARD III The New Evidence and watch the full documentary. Educate yourself!
reply

From what I remember the craziest part of Richards story is that before his brothers death he was one of his biggest and most loyal supporters, which makes the murder of his nephews (true or not) all the more surprising
reply

He DID have scoliosis, and that mild bend of the spine was bend up to 80 degrees it looks like someone tried to bend him in half sideways!
There is a documentary called 'Richard Iii: The New Evidence', its really good

reply

Richard iii did have a deformity of the spine, due to scoliosis. The University of Leicester did scans of his skeleton in 2016. His spine curved to the right, which caused his right shoulder to be higher than the left.
reply

PLEASE do a video about queen Elizabeth Woodville- Edward IV wife! It's truly an interesting story when getting past the propaganda. I would love to hear your wonderful narrators describe this queen who lost so much
reply

I don't think Richard did it, I think Henry's mom Margaret ordered their deaths, she wanted to make sure Henry got and kept the crown. Margaret was a very mean vile woman, and she hid behind her religion.
reply

when his spine was found, it showed severe scoliosis, which would make him look like a hunchback. Your evidence is wrong. Check the video where they get a modern day man with the same level of scoliosis.
reply

Ironically, Richard's body was found under a parking spot labeled with the letter R. Also, Richard's scoliosis was severe. Such curvature more than an actual hump would have made Richard humpbacked.
