I think while the job seems to be limiting concerning how much power each individual in the family holds, I do like the job. I dont believe holding a lot of power is what it takes to create change.
Real change. I think its the opportunity to speak to people from a higher position that creates change. People may not listen to the big ideas of a waitress that nobody knows a lot of people tend to believe that unless someone holds power or a certificate that says that have royal blood, the girl with big ideas is left unheard. When the person speaking is the queen, king, princess, etc. People stop to listen to what they have to say. One aspect I like about the position is that some of the people in the family hold other jobs outside of their royal family. I also like how they recognize people such as musicians or artists for their work, and make an effort to donate to charities. Maybe the queens job of reading letters (fan letters I suppose or other things) might sound boring to some, but I enjoy reading others writings. From my experience of traveling to Wales for the first time, some changes could be made. For example, on the day I had to catch my flight back to America, there were a lot of strikes happening. I understand that people need a way to be heard. But there has to be a better way of making requests besides causing people to miss their train to work or to see family, or in my case get stuck in Wales with little money to buy another flight. While I would love to be stuck in Wales, thats probably not the way to go about it. Imagine that someone had a family emergency, or an important matter they needed to address, and they had no access to transportation due to strikes
Overall, while the job may be limiting in power, Its an opportunity to listen and learn from many people and make small changes that could create a big impact.

They are the face of the unrealised distraction that stops the collective mindset from questioning what actually gives thier leaders, authority and government the right a lay claim to such powers over the population.
Without a figurehead, however fictional and irrelevant, the people will inevitably come to question those that impose and enforce restrictions on thier freedoms of life. Without this subconscious constraint of wonder, the 'democratic' system of rule and subservient legal fiction supposing its assumed, but irrefutable. legitimacy.
Simply.
Without a monarch, mankind would inevitably reject the oppressive and detrimental system of governance it currently endures. As without the ongoing entrenchment of religious principles indoctrinating the populations youth, confining the minds limitations of reason to suit the privileged advantage of the ruling class, it would not see reason for it to be incumbent upon them to be obedient and subservient to legal, corporate and institutional fictions that declare themselves as rightfully having a valid claim over the right to hold power over thier equals of man.

Imagine a clan of protohumans, consisting of multitudes of families. Many families tended to behave counter to forming a larger, peaceful society but a few families tended to behave exemplary in areas valued by the majority of the multitudes of families, and a very few were instrumental in countering the anti-societal behaviors of the multitude not by ruling, but by proving that better behavior results in better life for all. The crescendo was reached aeons ago and has now faded into the modern Royal Family.
I see them as a placeholder for all those whose shoulders we stand on; how they see themselves is irrelevant.

Sigh. So many ignorant comments on here from people who arent Brits and dont understand the real significance of monarchy in Great Britain. No they dont do nothing except party all day. The Royal Family wouldnt have survived as long as they have if that were the case. Theyre expected to work for their luxuries, ever since the RF started getting most of their funds granted by Parliament ( ie the people. While the people see them doing good work and being great ambassadors for the UK, they will continue to survive. They have considerable soft power internationally and the Queen has a non-political status as head of state which political appointees like Presidents can never have.

I have a great RESPECT for the Queen & her willingness (in the end) to keep her FAMILY around her even if they did break Royal custom. HER SMILE RADIATES HER HEART & LOVE WHEN PHOTOGRAPHED W/her grandchildren. Her turn around after Princess Diana's death was life changing for her. Initially NOT wanting to comment but eventually accepted Diana's contributions which were many. As a result the Queen was to learn that her presence to her public was critical. She toured the wonderful memorial Flowers & gifts her public had arranged. The custom of the Monarchy is overwhelmingly welcomed by her public & should NEVER be criticized by ANYONE NOT LIVING IN THE UK! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN

Minor correction: There's a limit to how many royals can officially represent the Queen and it depends on their place in the line of succession. Same with the Civil List, royals who are paid for their services by tax payers. These are the senior royals and in times of instability for the monarchy, they are fewer in number in an effort to appease the public.
Although, these days, that isn't working. I honestly don't know if the monarchy can survive the many scandals of recent years. Given its history, it probably shouldn't.

Nothing really, Just a fun fact, queens grandmother spoke English with a thick German accent, why you ask, well because your so called Royal British family is actually Royal German family, remember their original last name Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, do you know why they invented Windsor, I will tell you. Because during the WW1 Gotha bombers bombed London and the royal family didnt want to be kicked out of the power. Wake up you Brits, you are being brain washed to idolize.

They dont really work do they? Most of their so called duties are completely redundant and the rest of their royal commitments' involve their personal interests, which they would have engaged in anyway - like watching a horse race (on television even) going to the polo, attending golfing tournaments, watching movies and having their photos taken. They get paid by the taxpayer to perform their so called duties', even when they involve charity work. They dont work

Its sort of like if the First Lady/the president when functioning as a diplomat or the pope werent politically or religiously affiliated. The royal family performs the same functions without being openly motivated by pursuit of power or promotion of ideology. Honestly given how politically divided the US is I can see how advantageous it would be to have someone like that.

If what you described is duty then every rich person on the planet is a royal. Except most of the other people on the planet actually plan their charity events. These people
literally go to parties all year, take poor peoples tax dollars and claim that its duty. Get out of here. This is the longest running grift in the history of the world.

The fact that parliament basically runs things and makes the decisions sounds similar to here. The President runs things but it has to go through Congress and they can overturn a decision the President is making. Then of course the democrats and republicans have to get together and be in agreement which I doubt happens often.

As the song goes Huh, Good God Yaall what are you good for? Absolutely nothing. Get rid of the Royals. They tax the British people and the British people get nothing in return. The Caribbean tour by William and Kate was a disaster. After the Queen, the Commonwealth will slowly dissolve. Just go away please.

Where does the buck come from? , where is the GBP to pay the guards, chauffeurs, Buttler, domestic help, travels, events, how and who pays for it? Musk, Bezzos, Ma, Buffett, Gates do work and 100s of other business which run with or without them, nothing mentioned wrt royal family apart from going to events.

Imagine being born into royalty and literally having no responsibilities in the modern age where you don't have to work everything is handed to you on a silver diamond encrusted platter I can't imagine that type of life here here having to work a 9 to 5 just to barely make rent. these folks make me sick.

I just watched all ten minutes of this video and I have yet to hear one thing the British royal family does that I (or most others) would consider actual work. Hosting parties? Meeting dignitaries? Signing ascents? Patronizing charities? Sounds like a lot of pointless symbolic nonsense, not work.

Royalty is WORSHIPPED like gods but their Followers would NEVER admit that. Even while waiting in inclimate weather for hours to view their DEAD body. TRUE Christians would NEVER dishonor GOD with such False Worship because HE sees us ALL as just Humans. (Job 32: 21, 22)

Royalty is an obsolete & useless tradition. The idea that certain humans are better than others based on pedigree needs to go away. Royals don't contribute anything substantial for the benefit of humanity. Fascination for royal pedigree is about as useful as astrology.

I remember when Mother Theresa and Princess Diana died. They were all over the news and tv non stop. Now when someone popular or some royalty dies, they are replaced an hour later by the newest tik tok hack. When Elizabeth goes hopefully it will be more special.

So, I couldnt make it past 5 minutes of this boring drivel. All I heard was they go to parties and the queen always gives assent to the point that a half trained chimp could do the same thing. At least a group of chimps would be better looking and less inbred.

I tell you what the royal family do, and thats rip the British Taxpayers off.
The royals have been ripping the British taxpayers off since the year 1066.
There are people in the U. K. (including me) who wants the royal family to be abolished.
