I've been to Haley and they're just plain folk. I met Bruce while working (as an off-duty cop) a side hustle at a nightclub in Riverside, CA back during his Moon Lighting fame, and just before he did Die Hard, He was doing a movie at the time called Sunset that was being filmed in Perris, CA. He and James Gardner (Co-Star) stayed at the hotel while the 3rd star Margo Hemingway took lodging elsewhere. Mr. Garner was great and easy to protect as he'd go straight to his room after the day's shoot. Bruce was a slight handful as he'd (Being young and full of energy) would go into the night club jump on stage sing and play the harmonica. He was always decent with the public and treated us, bodyguards, with respect which most clients do not. I feel that Haley just didn't want to adjust to the times and despite small burgs like it that financially struggle decided to bite the hand that feeds them. But, that's just my opinion.

A lot of people like Bruce Willis, until they have to deal with him
I've heard that sentiment so many times from so many different sources. I think he'll be remembered as one of Hollywood's weirdest polar opposites. His characters always feel so every-man, approachable and charismatic, but the man himself is a massive snob, elitist and egomaniac. I guess that's why he was such a damn good actor. He fooled the world into thinking he wasn't a douche. :P

Hey Guys! Big oops in your story. Wayne Adair (the photograph you have on this video) is in fact not the correct guy. The gentleman you have in your video is a family friend, a Canadian citizen and was an OPP Officer during this time in Temagami Ontario. He was the chief of police and my mother was his secretary. I can confirm this as well, I was so confused. Called my mom, almost called Wayne and was like Bro, why did you never tell me this story

Look I don't mind celebrities coming to these small towns and they are allowed to but don't come to just change the whole thing. Come over and just leave it be. Now if you want to buy something that needs to be renovated then you know that's different. Trying to change an entire town isn't always good especially if you're not getting along with the locals. Too bad because I thought Bruce Willis would be nice but I guess not.

That's capitalism for you.
If the townies would have just not sold their cultural mainstays (like the theater and restaurant) to someone like that, they wouldn't have created their own problem.
Unfortunately for them, they were easily bought off.
There is no way that Willis would even consider doing that in my hometown, there would be immediate pushback.
Thank you for the video.

People hated him in Hailey. The Boise weekly newspaper used to have articles condemning him and people gathering signatures to have him kicked out. He would tear down landmarks to build a parking lot for his crappy restaurant and Demi Moore would walk around that conservative sown dressed like a stripper. He made the entire town hate him. He was incredibly rude.

I was at his Club he owned called The Mint on New Year's Eve, the night he closed it. We were watching his blues band play and we were the last customers sitting there drinking as it was shutting down. Suddenly he bursts out and screams you're fired at everyone. That was it. The club closed permanently.

Seems a little tasteless to be trashing Bruce Willis in light of recent news. Im honestly a little shocked to have come to the comments and found mostly hateful speech towards someone whom personal, and familial, suffering has recently been made public knowledgewhatever gets the clicks, I guess

This kind of sounds like what's happening with Dave chappelle in the small town he lives in. Offered them a bunch of financial assistance to build things and is now trying to control the manipulate what's happening with threats of removing the money he has or will pump into the infrastructure.

One of my closest friends in my youth lived in Hailey. A friend of mine and I went to visit her. Turns out her brother was one of the local contractors hired to build the Power family's home. To cut to the chase. we got to walk through the bare bones framing of the house.

I was yelled at by Bruce Willis at 7 years old. They were filming The Kid at my elementary school and I went to use the restroom and when I was done I went the wrong way and ruined a shot of spencer Breslin being taken to the principals office after the Tri-pod dog fight

I worked at that ski resort in the Sun Valley when I was 19 because we got to ski for free if we worked for the resort. I met all kinds of famous people there. Brooke shields, Peter Cetera, Ralph Lauren and Clint Eastwood all had condos right up back behind my apartment.

some californians left the state to run from problems they created only to cause the exact same problems in some unsuspecting town pissing off the residents and making their lives noticeably worse?
hmm, wherever have I heard that story before.

I'm glad that Hollywood never discovered McCall Idaho a couple hours away from Sun valley. McCall blows Sun Valley away in every aspect and it's 10 times prettier. Sun Valley is bland. McCall has a huge beautiful Lake and more hardcore skiing

As an Idahoan, I can say that the people of Sun Valley are NOTHING like the average person here. I love going to visit but everyone there seems so put of touch, like fur coats and billionaires in rugged country. It feels weird to see it.

There is a podcast called Haileywood that goes in depth about what he did to not only Hailey but a town in New Jersey. Willis has a huge ego and stops being nice when you cross him. Some of the things he did were pretty awful.
