It is one of the most haunted places on Earth. Its dark and sordid history has helped make it one of the most infamous burial sites on the planet. But what did this humble boneyard do to earn such a spooky reputation?

We have 3 graveyards by our house. The oldest is a civil war graveyard for union African American soldiers and sailors. It is 2 doors down from our house. I grew up in Florence, NE. It was winter headquarters for the Mormon pioneers on their way to Utah. The Mormon cemetery on the hill was/is quite famous.

Christopher Columbus called the indigenous Indian cause he thought he landed in India. He dismissed the indigenous of the lands when they told him they are not Indian. Now they say these lands belong to the Indians. These lands belong to no one. The indigenous belong to the lands.

You should do a story on London cemeteries of 19th century which were overfilled to such a degree, and burials being quite shallow, that it led to a rather gory and very real kind of horror. You could smell it too, apparently. Essentially a cemetary crisis.

We own & live in a funeral home. I always get the question if I see ghost. In 22 as being a funeral director Ive never seen one. Ghosts are not real- neither is professional wrestling but Ive seen a lot of it lol

I had an out of this world paranormal experience back in 2020 and now I am firm believer. I wouldn't doubt the boy seeing the soldier is true, but I am also not naive to know people do create fictional stories.

Reminds me of a cemetery in Nebraska that is now closed to the public because of all the sinister stories attached to the cemetery. You have to get special city permission to even set foot in the cemetery.

Imagination is a wonderful gift one that is often given to fleeing reality hauntings make interesting stories but dont believe a word of them, the gulf between the living and the dead is vast, and impassable

This is interesting but you should check out Athens Ohio. Its considered one of the haunted places on earth. I lived there for about five years and never saw anything but the creepy vibe is definitely there

If you sit on the Devil's Chair at 7pm you can pick up a quest after slaying an imp that spawns. If you return the following day you'll meet Satan himself who will give you Satan's Pitchfork.

I grew up in Springfield and had no idea this place existed!
Oh, side note. You can pronounce the river Sang-uh-mun. Sang-uh-MON makes you sound like how our GPS devices say it. Lol

I never understood why graveyards would be haunted. People generally don't die there. They're bodies only end up there like 3 days later. Don't ghosts usually haunt where they die?

I know you may get into a pissing match with other folks who claim their cemetary is the most haunted. I would say Decatur has a very case to say the most haunted tho with Greenwood.

And to think the Indians helped the pilgrims and taught them how to hunt and live off the land. And they got genocide holocaust as a thank you. Moral of the story never trust a soul

You need to get a better commentator, these are great stories except for all the little jibs and jabs and sarcastic rhetoric I don't need that I just wanted to hear a good story

Imagine going to visit a dead loved one in a cemetery and everyone thinking you are a ghost. Oh there was a crying woman in the cemetery you say? Shock and suprisw
reply

As ghosts are clearly bollocks, I'd suggest all these stories are made up to keep people away from disturbing the crooks that used to meet up there

Each time I fart, I can sense an evil spirit for 30 seconds, possibly demonic. I think it's trying to communicate because I also hear a loud EVP

nobody turns into a poltergeist after living an awesome life and passing away peacefully in a gigantic bed.
It's the sarcasm for me.
