What If Earth Lost All Its Coral Reefs?

How many sea animals would face extinction? Could the corals rebuild themselves from scratch? How would this massive die-off affect humanity? Corals are not rocks. They are huge colonies of a distant relative of the jellyfish - coral polyps. And like all living things, they die 50% of GBR disappeared in only 2 years. And still, humans keep living and consuming the way they used to. Humans might be the smartest and most advanced species on earth but at the same time the dumbest. We-re the only species that knowingly destroy our own living space.

There must be some serious campaigning on climate change.
not like school play of Greta Thunberg propaganda of left ecosystem. SAYING -HOW DARE YOU? - can only yield some publicity on internet. IT IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM it must be dealt in a serious way by Promoting those who are actually working on ground for Environment. they don't say HOW DARE YOU they just work to protect the environment not to get publicity.

I work for an NGO in a remote pacific island and will be doing a presentation on marine ecosystems in two days to a group of high school students as part of our outreach program. I'm showing them this video. It's so well done. Efficient, and straight to the point. No hardcore sciency stuff that will put kids to sleep haha! Thank you 'Whaf If'.

I see a world where fish are the most expensive food.
I see a world where disease thrives.
I see a world where corals are dead. I see a world where we're too late to bring it back.
The quicker we give up on it. The quicker we will suffer the consequences of our ignorance.

Another way to help and conserve the reef is to stop using sunscreens that contain Oxybenzon, Butyparaben, 4MBC, and/or Octinoxate! Those chemical cause damage to the corrals!
