What Happens If You Don't Shower for a Month?

Every morning or every night. Before going out. Definitely after the big game. For most people, showering is routine. But for some, it's religion. But if lots of showering makes you feel divine, your body might be the real miracle worker. The average human spends more than a year of their life in the shower. And according to most dermatologists, that's way too much. But how else are you supposed to keep looking and smelling your best?

(depression and asperger-s speaking: ) what if you live in a temperate weather and don-t give off the strong smell you mention. My only problem is the itchiness of the scalp, it-s definitely the most annoying thing. but it-s so hard to bring myself to shower even though it-s the most satisfying thing once i-m there. (please don-t judge me i actually have a really hard time with this and regular habits. I-m trying to shower and brush my teeth everyday but it-s so hard that i-ve gone 17 days without showering-. any helpful recommendations for this? specially if it comes from parents with kids with autism)
also what you said was a bit exaggerated specially the day 20 thing. it varies person to person but you don-t give off that strong of a smell if you-re not an active person and just stay seated or laying down all day. You can control it with wearing clothes that according to the weather don-t make you hot, use wetwipes and deodorant and body perfume. Hell, my sister and mom-s feet smell terrible after showering the night before and mine don-t. Also wonder what this 20 day thing would be on a person with the asian genes ) where you don-t smell bad when you sweat

So um this is almost completely false - I-ve gone almost a month without washing my hair and it doesn-t stand up or get too matted as long as you brush your hair your fine and it-s not like I have short hair it-s actually 3 ft long the reason I wash my hair less often then most is because sense it-s so long it takes over 4 hours to dry sometimes more so unless you don-t shower for a month and it turns out like this doesn-t believe everything

This is so ridiculous, unless there is some kind of condition you have, or live in a tropical climate with NO air conditioning, play sports, or work in a sewer, there is no need to take a shower/bath every day, a-sitting on your butt when the most strenuous thing you did all day was polish your nails.
LOL
If you HAVE to take a bath every day because you stink, without the aforementioned conditions, I suggest a visit to the doc, asap.

In my high school days, our school was on a hill and water was not always available, i was in boarding school.
I once showered 3 times the entire term (like a semester with three months)
I was 13 that time so my dad came to pick me for holidays. and despite having showered the day before, he said i smelt horrible no matter how much Air Conditioning he used in the car -. I didnt think I did actually.
NOW I KNOW WHY!

This video is misleading and mostly WRONG.
It's poor diet and chemicals on the skin that make people stink.
If you only eat Human Food and don't put chemicals on your body then you can go forever without stinking. You don't even smell. Just like any apex predator doesn't want to stink.
Showering is for when it rains. It's not required to stay clean nor hygienic.

I'll tell you from experience. I've been homeless for seven years, the last month was in March where I went the whole month without showering. I developed bed sores, attracted bugs, and people just move outta the way from the stink. Don't be like me, be clean and healthy. I'm doing better now, but kinda miss the challenge of being on the streets of SLC.

I've not technically bathed or showered in that sense for a year at a time. You will stink but really if you are say, stuck inside an isolated place especially in a cold climate or winter. If you clean areas where your body has jointing, armpits, in between legs etc. with alcohol wipes or similar, and was your hair. No one even notices

Yes it Worth it, here's HOW. you can only have like one to three showers a month, but it also must be connected with your diet, considering vegetarian is the best which reduce the bad smell and even won't be nasty nor long lasting, also must use deodorant on daily bases, and you're good to go!

Extreme depression literally caused me to not be able to shower for 4 MONTHS.
I was miserable, I don-t sweat nor smell and I live in a cold country too thus I hadn-t needed to worry about those things.
And I also know that some of those aren-t that accurate, such as the brush one.

reply

All this is not true- unfortunately when I was depressed, I only showered, maybe once a month and none of that stuff happened except for maybe armpits smell that-s about it, but you can keep up on that brush your hair every day brush your teeth and you-ll be fine
reply

This is so inaccurate. Showering often makes your skin dry. Your body relies on oils to moisturize you naturally. I just went a month without showering and none of these happened. Even my hair wasn-t greasy.

Random Fact
If the food has a high water content, like an egg or potato, the water expands and turns to steam. Without a way for the steam to escape, the internal pressure rapidly builds until the food explodes.

The most ive gone without shower is about a week and some days, I felt every day after the fourth day. Taking a shower should be added to the list of basic rights.

i did this once 30 days as a kid we were competing at school, I won and my mom didn't know until i told her she though just a week or 2
reply

extend time needed between showers just by rubbing your hair with paper towels, it removes the grease and makes it look/feel clean again
reply

Back in my old town, I only showered ONCE A WEEK because there was too much rust in the water, and that made showering uncomfortable. :(
