The so called big crunch (collapse) of the universe is not an immediate process, so there cannot be a -shutdown- tomorrow, it is a looooong process, billions of years.
The main factor is the lack of star formation and the much larger distances between the galaxies. BUT the end of the cosmos is not a real end (just like our death, which is just a transformation phase, a new universe bubble will emerge and be filled with new fresh energy and particles (VERY likely through quasars and their energy jets - beems.
So there is a permanent renewal process, the cosmos will never die, the -dead space- will be renewed again and again. and again. and again!

If the world was gonna end in 24 hours, I'd get wasted, see if I can find someone to hook up with, and then pass out with the hopes of being black out drunk before the world ends so that I won't have to feel anything. Now, if we were give a week's notice, I'd get in a car and drive to my favorite place and just spend the final days there.

the universe will keep on growing but the galexies are not moving and next the big rip will hapen all galexies will die now next is the big crunch all reamaining parts of the atomes will slowly hit each other forming a realy big star and blow up makeing a new universe its also called the universe reaborn know as the 2nd big bang

The universes will pass one by one in separate exposing cause by mankind and our universe will go into a deep freeze and pass away after the exposing. The only thing that will survive is another evil being who remove the dead galaxy outside our universe My opinion.

I think that at some point, the universe will stop expanding and begin to contract until the big bang occurs again. The Hindus have a great parable--Lord Rama is resting. When he exhales, a universe is created and when he inhales, a universe is destroyed.

you need to make a what if we traveled to a different universe. we would have different scarier and bigger planets. we could all see them so up close to us. it would be horrifying. maybe something even bigger than the sun.

i wouldn't see the big crunch as the end but hope for the rebirth of the universe. I mean consider that it started with a big bang meaning it would restart itself again by the big crunch

Minus an all out intergalactic Alien war. My money is on the big rip being responsible for the Big Bang, as the big crunch theory although possible is leas probable than the big rip.
