It seems that the more we -advance- the more setbacks we create for ourselves. Back in the day household waste didn-t have so much plastic. It-s because we are constantly looking for convenience like grocery shopping for instance.
Instead of visiting small businesses with a basket to buy our produce we go to supermarkets where everything is wrapped in plastic. We buy ready meals packaged in plastic instead because it-s more convenient.
Here in the UK, I remember getting our milk delivered in the mornings from local dairies and the empty glass bottles were returned to be reused. Sadly it-s become another product we purchase at the supermarket and the containers are now plastic and not glass because it-s cheaper.
Because we desire more exotic foods from abroad we ingest food pumped full of chemicals to order them to ripen on schedule. Because we demand a certain standard and amount of meat we pump the cattle full of hormones to grow faster. The meat industry, in order to cater to our ever growing demands, raise cattle in huge numbers affecting methane production and destroying natural habitats of many indigenous species of creatures, even diving some towards extinction.
If we returned to eating locally sourced produce we could instantly reduce the amount of plastic wrap and chemicals as well as help local small businesses prosper, but modern mindsets wouldn-t allow such a -backward- lifestyle. Especially if the local food produce is limited in variety. Sadly we-ve become too greedy, selfish and demanding for the planet.

All our Trash comes directly from Nature (what? you didnt know? you thought it falls to Earth from another Dimension? yeah no! its all nature, even if we change it, the main ingredients are always taken from nature itself and given enough time, nature will -recycle- them on its own) so nature itself wouldnt really care at all. Sure, some fish might die but others might rejoice at the plenty of materials we dump down there (our trash is a FEAST for some Animals.
Of course we could forget Recycling any of that stuff because once its down the Trench its gonna be tough getting it back.
All in all, the risks and costs involved would probably make this a very inefficient -solution-. Also, most of the Trash would not even reach the deeps and float above Water, probably ruining some Tourists day and cause -green world saving activists- to have a heart attack. which would probably be the best thing about it but sadly its still not worth it.

Doesnt matter what we do now. Microplastics are in every complex lifeform on the planet, from birds, humans, sharks and even weird ingodly creatures that lurk in the depths of the mariana trench. We all ahow signs of microplastic build up in our bodies.
This plastic is thought to affecting our brains, organs and could even be responsible for a massive spike in infertile men and possibly birth rates dropping.
It'll take centuries to clear naturally. We've poisoned our planet.

I get utterly disgusted when I see videos about idiots dumping garbage in the water. I hate to see it so much that I rather turn my eyes away. Seriously, what is their problem? Won't we all benefit to use more reasonable ways - and to heal this place rather than litter our world like that?

EDIT: I'd like to grab a big hosepipe and wash this type of folks in the same waters they dump their trash in >=(

Plastics break down into the ocean, getting into the ocean's water and killing off sections of the ecosystem which would have catastrophic results including our land ecosystem. NO. STOP POLLUTING PERIOD. In fact, we should focus on getting RID OF PLASTIC, not finding a new deep crack to shove it all into! Unbelievable

Not sure about the pressure issue. The pressure around everyday items would be equalized in most cases only things like water bottles or cans that were unopened would 'crunch' into a ball or the like. An empty can sent into the trench that is open, will just stay as it is when it hits bottom, the pressure inside the can and all around it, will be equal. There may be -some- torsion but it won't compact it.

China are the worst at this! 78% of all fresh water in China is to pouted for human consumption & while the rest of the would are trying to cut down on emissions, China is building new Coal plants and only this year 2020 China has built more new coal plants then the rest of the world combined have coal plants.

Theres better solutions to garbage than dumping it somewhere. We really are the worst species ever created. We are the only things on the planet which are not eco friendly. Even animals poop nourishes the ground but we just destroy, destroy, destroy.
