What If There Is Life on Venus?

Dive deeper and watch our interview with the co-author of the seminal paper in Nature Astronomy, MIT's Professor Sara Seager: Is alien life really out there? Humanity has wondered about it for decades, and according to scientists, this might finally be a reality. Astronomers have discovered there could be life on Venus. Does this mean we'll finally meet aliens? Could this help us discover other aliens? And what does this discovery mean for us?

Infinite planets out there mean infinite possibilities. We have an entire universe with millions of galaxies & planets, and it flabbergasts me that some people think living beings are only in Earth. Just because we haven't discovered them, doesn't mean they don't exist. They probably look/are like nothing we've ever imagined & wouldn't need the same conditions to survive as we do. Here, I love how What If explores possibilities of life in Venus. Although, maybe broaden our spectrum? we have anaerobic bacteria on Earth and we're assuming that same thing is in Venus. Its possible, but I feel whatever is alive in Venus would be an entirely different organism altogether. With completely foreign (alien) biochemistry & physics to it. Just my view on this. :

I always wonder what if we found some way to adapt our bodies to survive in extreme conditions (in other planets. Without terraforming them lol. As for aliens, we may find answers if we broaden our thinking. Aliens will not need the same conditions as humans to survive, what is extreme weather to us maybe absolutely normal weather for them. They may not even have breathing mechanisms or anything that you'd normally expect living beings to have.

It's better to not visit other planets. Kardashians, Jenners, todays music, movie stars, corporate CEOs, etc. plagued the hell out of this Earth. We don't want them plaguing other planets. Imagine Jeff bezos ruling the universe. He's one of the worse thing that happened to this planet.

-We shouldn-t rule out Venus for being a potential host for human life-
Venus-s atmospheric pressure is so dense you will immediately be flattened just by standing on it. The longest a man made rover was able to last on Venus was 5 minutes. I think it-s safe to say we can rule out Venus.

I had a conversation about this with an alien enthusiast 5 year's agi, and he made a compelling argument that Aliens could easily live in gas filled planets like Venus, as gasses to Aliens would be the equivalent to humans breathing air.

maybe not on mars or venus. but life sure exist out there. in other solar system, there is sure some others forms of life, who get energy from other elements than oxigen. perhaps elements we dont even have on earth.
reply

Am I the only one who is a bit nervous if there are aliens in other planets? They could be psychos, they would make Kim jong-un look friendly. It's better to stay quiet.
reply

This fool said Martians on Venus when the word mean lifeforms on Mars, that why -Mar- is in the word Martian, Venus will never be habitable, it's a toxic planet with zero survival
reply

We would just probably imprison it and test the -alien- like a guinea pig and if the first one died unexpectedly we would just repeat the process until we got what we want
reply

What if venus micro organism life is undergoing evolution like what happened here on earth but with us interrupting it might hinder the future life in venus
reply

If Venus has life then hopefully people will be slapped with the fact that we can't automatically assume the Copernican Principle, as useful as it is.
reply

Well if it has it-s most likely they won-t have ufos because with those conditions on the ground it would be almost impossible to get the resources
reply

BS there no life on Venus! and to! we might discover some thing, we wished we never knew about to - Don't Even bring it near EARTH! - BEAM ME UP SCOTTY
reply

Absurd to think life could exist on venus. many other planets or moons could be a choice. but VENUS. never happen. spend your billions elsewhere
reply

In case anyone is wondering, the weird creatures shown in the first part of the video (along with the tardigrades) are bdelloid rotifers
reply

According to thunderf00t, this is unlikely. The amount of phosphine they detected was at 20 parts per million. It's too little.
reply

Perhaps we should ignite the phosphine then reseed the planet. We have to start terraforming all three disaster planets now.
reply

Imagine, an ancient alien race far away from earth theorized that after a millions of years, there will be a life on earth
reply

There's already a life on Venus but not a civilization but what a areobic bacteria a bacteria that does not need an oxigen
reply

What I expect: In Venus there is green people with big ass heads!
Reality: In Venus there is tiny bacteria and bugs!

reply

What is the name of the movie with the alien lady with a blue head and in a blue place?
Pllllzzz guys. I need it

reply

Wait. So it's possible that there's life in Venus but that life is life of bacteria? Okayyyy. the way I thought. nvm
reply

Damn idiot's, thinking bout bringing germs. Viruses and bacteria from another planet like china doesn't have enough.
