What do we really know about octopuses? For starters, they don't have 8 tentacles. they're called arms. Did you know they had 3 hearts? 9 brains? And that some people believe they aren't originally from Earth? If you've been lucky enough to catch the Netflix documentary My Octopus Teacher-, then you also know they are capable of so much more than spraying ink. Join Peter and Richard as they welcome Pippa Ehrlich, the director of My Octopus Teacher-. Together they take a deep dive in the kelp forests of Southern Africa and get a lesson or two from one of the most fascinating creatures on Earth

Curious. does the short life span of the octopus speed up mental and physical evolution compared to something (humans) that lives 90ish years? The octopus would have 30 plus generations during that 90 years period to adjust to the environment through evolution. The other creature that lives 90 years may have 4-6 generations during that 90 years. Thus only 4-6 chances to evolve.
Thank you. :-)

different and yet. it would appear JOY is what we have in common. If you watch again -Octopus Teacher-. in the scene, -she- on the ocean floor, moving about side to side, moving arms to engage the fish. THAT was -she-. expressing JOY! I knew instantly what it was, cause I saw it the moment it happened for the first time in one of my children! -She was FEELING. not so much DOING!

But it would had been so much better if they did not make it a place that people know! they will build up awful hotels and dump swewage there and all these amazing animals and kelp will be polluted and killed!

Oxford dictionary says it is indeed -octopuses. - I checked because true scholars know that Merriam-Webster is not a college-approved dictionary. It's like the Ebonics dictionary for white people.

I always thought it was octo-PI.
Three hearts? They have more hearts than timelords! :P
I've seen similar holes on clam shells. I've always thought that it was caused by jellyfish.

So 8 arm Octopuses are 8 times as fun as an 8 armed Octopus with 8 arms with 8 Octopuses.
Say that repeatedly fast.
