On the topic of helicopter parenting;
2 years ago I meticulously planned out an indoor initiation scuba diving trip with 3 close old school friends of mine. that planning took like over 6 months and at least a couple dozen phonecalls with my friends to make sure they were in the loop, the scuba organization to make sure the paperwork and payments were in order, and doctors to make sure we all were deemed physically able to participate in this since Scuba diving obviously carries inherent danger to one's health if practiced improperly.
Each of us had to pay the rough equivalent of 130 dollars in advance to cover our crash course in scubadiving, materiel and one-day insurance as well as the right to a full refund up to a minimum of 24 hours in advance before the activity takes place.
when the day of the trip eventually came, I was immediately punched in the gut with a case of helicopter parenting by the mom of one of my other friend who was supposed to come scubadive with us. his mom effectively forbade his at the time 29 YEAR OLD SON to go out to that trip because the weathermen forecasted a fairly local but significant hailstorm passing over, which at it's peak would've already passed by far away from us. I explained this to his mom and urged her to let me come and pick him up saying I would take full responsibility to watch over him and the storm would've already passed by the time we were on the road but she still insisted he should stay with her, never mind she effectively waived his right to a refund also because she decided LAST MINUTE to cancel his involvement in this trip.
Me and my best friend scubadiving was really fun and it was worth the money to me. It's just a darn shame that other friend couldn't be part of it.
I've never felt such a sour distaste and disapproval for a parent ever since, but it's even more sad that the friend didn't even put up any resistance against his mom for squandering 130 dollars and something I've been planning for so long, ALL because his mom bought into weather forecast scaremongering over a supposed monster hailstorm that didn't happen. I seriously worry that this guy is going to stagnate in life and forever live in the shadow of his mom, and his mom will keep wondering why he never goes outside, completely being unaware she probably is a big reason why.

I am of the generational cusp of Gen X and Millennial. my formative years and coming of age being the mid and late nineties along with a father of the Silent generation being old school gave me a great perception that is well rounded. a mix of the old and the new. There are millions of us older men who are observing and know what is happening guys. some are quite negative about things some are optimistic. either way just know we are here. there is a source of support here for you. and a place of knowledge to help you understand if you take the time and be reasonable. there is criticism for you and there is a pat on the back as well. the power to turn this all around is in our hands collectively. despite appearances. yes it is stacked against us. this is by design, you all know this. some solidarity and showing your fellow man respect where it’s deserved will go a long way. there is work to be done. we all have our part to play in the outcome here.
I recommend one thing in particular, recognizing your own is important. like the other men younger or older who are on your side. who offer support. don’t come after your own. it’s a problem I am seeing today.
recognize your enemies. you hear leftist communist/ Marxists. are the enemy. Do not surrender any ground to them anywhere. stomp them out upon sight. make them fear. These traitors will never stop, and they will never leave you alone. take it to them and go hard.

When I moved to my small ski town in Co in 2002, there were 7 men to 3 women and very affordable! Fast forward to 2012 and the Left decided they wanted this town and the white men had to go! I plan on going to college nevertheless. My parents told me they’d support me if I didn’t go, but I have a huge scholarship that makes it cheaper to attend than to live at home, and I plan on being a teacher/something in the realm of academe, so I’ll need the superficial papers. I plan on trying to accumulate skills on the side in the meantime, while cultivating my relationships with God and my friends. I finished high school earlier today. I get your warning. My family is upper middle class, so for now we have a buffer, and if all goes to Hell, we have some rural land we can retreat to. My ultimate goal is to have a big Christian family and hopefully positively impact the youth. I’m ready to face adulthood and reclaim the ashes of the old world order for Christ.

I was raised in a farm by amazing parents. I was sent to university to learn computer science. Study were great, but the shock I experienced moving to the city made me depressed and I took 30 kg it took me years to loose.
Came back home with my degree, worked from home, and worked with my parents in exchange for free housing and free food.
But 9 out of 10 young people in my are are guys. All women throw themselves at the city lights.
So, with my savings, I decided to travel the world for a few years.
I had a quite decent life so far, but also have family values due to my upbringing. I crave having a family and it means. Having to interact with women.

This is not for american but i think we all need to have atleast 1 high demand degree and if you already got that degree look for a job as much as you can. Even if you don't get hired, but i think you should applying. Because i have a prediction that the world will fall in a near future and if you guys hopefully survive, you can get that life like after the plague. You' have a high demand degree, less people in the world, technology may decrease in how advanced it is. I think if your parents pay your college tuition and not you or you're not an American this will work.

Out of all the things in science quantum mechanics, the Standard Model of Particle Physics, and General Relativity are the two things that have had the STRONGEST evidence for them out of any scientific principles, and I mean experimentally not theoretically. If you are going to make that claim then you better have some DAMN STRONG evidence to support it. Forgivable as awareness on this topic is NOT prevalent at all.
Now if you actually have such evidence, then I want to see it as it sounds interesting and juicy. Also most of the others claims are on point. Physics is hard.

I'm from Holland. Kinda center left on some issues, on other issues center right. I'm also 38, so kinda in the Middle on everything. It's a weird perspective to have. I see things change, but am also part of it and have problems with some. It makes me agree and dissagree with lots of stuff you say. But i had to say to everyone who want to reed is: learn to love yourself. I 1000% agree. I had to learn it to and am still learning it. A wife, a good job etc. It will Come later. If you love yourself, learn to be more confident, you are not dependend on others and things will eventually. mostly fall into place.

Most frustrating, you have little to no applied economic knowledge, yet you spout right-wing economic talking points over & over. Until you understand left wing economics, don't gaslight us. Your whole 'exceptionalist' US system & country is effed for many more reasons than you identify, from an ally's pov. Yeah, it's our fault lmao.

As a young men from the Netherlands i can say that the things discussed in this video are true to a much lesser extent here it seems like. Mainly due to less helicopter parenting. You do see alot of guys are socially awkward but i would estimate that 50% of guys regulary hang out with others and have sufficient socialization. It may be due to me living in a more rural part of the country wich still has community ties. I know most young people in my town of 3000. But still it does seem as though this social isolation is not as widespread everywhere

As a GenXer I see the utter collapse of our society from what I was even raised under and it both angers and saddens me that you young men are being shackled and slowly turned into the left’s boogeyman. We maybe older but we are not oblivious to what is happening to you because we are being affected by it but of course not to the degree your generation is. Just know your generation is not alone we are here for you and will gladly give you the benefit of our experience for what it’s worth.

I am worried about my two sons. But I trust in our trad Cat community to withstand the Zeitgeist BS. Switzerland is also still comparatively more sane.
