The Four Trends of the 21st Century. Devdersh: I think religion will find validated by science. It will through the research on consciousness, also when the general public would get to know that contextuality in QM has been validated which again also connects with the consciousness research and lending credence or credibility to the notion that consciousness is fundamental, it's just that the current mainstream has been deeply materialistic or more accurately reductive physicalist for the past 150 years so this scientific paradigm of physicalism now being challenged by the new findings is throwing up epicycles like string theory, and the absurd everettian many world's interpretation just to preserve this paradigm as much. I mean I can't blame them cause academics have put their entire life onto the current paradigm. yet even currently serious materialists have changed their stance to panpsychism to idealism(objective idealism specifically the one that I adhere to analytic idealism(which is peer reviewed published work, I used to be a staunch physicalist(at first I was a weak emergentist and seeing that as untenable became strong emergentist then I abandoned emergentism altogether) and part of the New Atheist movement for like 3-4years )
Even in Evolutionary biology this year we found non random mutations occurring at a university in Israel fundamentally challenging neodarwinism I. e briefly saying mutations are random that is there is equal probability that all genes will undergo mutations.
Even in the field of perceptions the verdicality or isomorphic view of how vision works has been disproven by Fitness beats truth theorem and was mathematically proven and the work was published in a respectable journal. like there is a silent revolution happening in scientific circles too. we will probably see it come to surface in next two decades especially due to internet as it allows ideas like these be communicated easily

The future of the world may take many directions. But what human beings need to do is to find patterns of coexistence in an age of contradictions. Then deal with the technical setbacks before entering the interstellar age, the lack of people's carrying capacity caused by social constraints, the social model that has slowed down technological progress, and the interpersonal problems caused by the short-sighted limitations of human thinking, and even the relationship between individuals and countries. By solving them one by one, human beings can alleviate this internal chaos with more planetary resources.
Most of the problems now are only due to lack of resources, and they are faced with each other's efforts to exaggerate each other's evil racism, and the geographical conflicts brought about by the competition for land formed since ancient times. Europeans and Americans are unwilling to let go of the noble and arrogant mentality that has ruled the world for hundreds of years, and The economic oppression caused by the technological generation gap. The civilizations that came after will also grow in this experience of being suppressed, and in turn will continue to face the people of the world with the mentality of Europeans and Americans colonizing the world. Human nature is selfish, but wise leaders should understand that while they occupy most of the world's resources, their actions will shoulder the rise and fall of the entire organization. Now, the Arab world in West Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and most of the African world are actively promoting changes. They are dissatisfied with the status quo and hope that they can strive for a better life for their citizens. I only hope that a new era will come with strength and the integration model of most national resources, which can shoulder the balance of the overall survival and development of human beings.

You shouldn't make so many assumptions about technologies like neuralink or AI. Just because there are considerable barries in those areas does not mean they will never be surpassed. And you might be surprised by how quickly those techs will be improved. This is a common mistake people make, they assume that the development of a certain tech in their current time has reached a kind of final state, and can go no further. People have made that assumption all the time in the past, look how that has worked out for them.
On the subject of biological engineering, just like agriculture (which really was a primitive form of biological engineering in itself) it will (and already does) provide immense power to anyone who understands it. Even if 99% of the world shuts it down and bans it, there will be a 1% that embraces it and will inevitably gain power over the rest of civlization. Eventually the naysayers will be forced to adopt it or be completely dominated, just like with agriculture. This is mastery over humanity's future evolution we're talking about here, it's not something you can just sit out. Either that, or you try to make a hard jump to totally abiotic life, but that would be a lot more difficult.

The problem with religion is that it acts like it's real when it is fake. Now if you look at religion like philosophy and understand it's all lies but the story holds good lessons, that can work. But it's also kind of shitty to get your moral foundation from a bunch of lies. Science and religion can't work together if you think religion is real. Only if you use religion as a philosophy. Science deals with reality religion deals in lies that can help people build a moral foundation but it can also do a lot of bad. I think a better way is to admit it's all fake but look at all the religions and understand the philosophy behind them. Ideally, you could have a philosophy without lies that teaches good lessons and still get rid of the religions filled with lies. Anyways I hope I didn't come off as a cringy hat-tipping atheist. I really do like your videos because you have an interesting point of view and I learn a lot of stuff from your videos. And I also like how you don't dick ride for either side and you tend to give both sides a fair shake even if you have a little bit of a bias. Which is totally fine because we all have them. Love your videos.

America and Europe are gonna supercharge their immigration.
American/European populations are declining rapidly, but if they open up to immigration, they can stabilize it.
It hadnt worked well in Europe, but in America, immigration despite what the media tells you, is really popular with people. Even Republicans endorse immigration, as long as its controlled and not illegal.
America is going to appear more like Europe, and actually have a strong national identity moving forward. Before, Americans really had no national identity. Americans thought of themselves as the most generic country possible. But now, with the immigration, they want to make sure that even with their new countrymen, their sense of national identity doesnt die out.
Gun Ownership is going to skyrocket in America, as its a big point of national identity. Your also gonna see America be alot more exoticized in the future, and your also gonna see America moving towards massive infrastructure investments to fuel this national identity.
America is basically gonna become more or less similar to Europe in a sense.

This already has happened, during the 80s.
If you asked an old American that lived throughout the 80s, they would remember the rise of japan.
Americans saw the Japanese pulling massive work hours and practically overworking themselves to a massive amount.
There were also cases of Japanese foreign ministers coming over, and jokingly referring to eveyrone as lazy north americans
This fear basically fueled America to adopt a japanese-esque work culture, and is prolly the reason why Europeans think of Americans are overworked.

Techology is neither bad nor good, it's how it is used. I am optimistic about a lot of developments and the great thing is that I only need to wait to see the effects they will bring. The truth about the normal things that make us happy, like traditional religion or a lot of other ideological structures, is that they just don't cut it on a fundamental level for an ever growing number of people and this cannot easily be dismissed. We need new answers and technology is one of the few things that may offer satisfactory solutions.

This is one way to see the world but it's only that. I don't see it as you presented for the most part but it is still interesting to get a different position.
For example, you say that people will reject immortality and the progress of genetics that permit it. I don't see it as immortality but a better and longer life at the top of my abilities. Immortality without quality is useless but a longer life with the capacity to do more things, learn more and experience more is intriguing to say the least.

I love your speculation and your work is fantastic. It is exceedingly obvious you have never been physically attacked. I am betting on solar storm before then. I fully expect humanity to get jumped my an unseen assailant while the devils we know just keep poking. I am a pessimist who has been beaten up literally and figuratively, so my perspective may be dog waste. Life is hard and people are assholes. My estate can settle if you wanna throw up a long term bet. .

No mention of climate change. It will creat a new trade route in the arctic sea and massive immigration mainly due to floods and droughts. Extremes weather events are already happening and affecting our economy. Bangladesh wont be as rich as the Dutch. The only way to stop irreversible change due to feedback loos is cutting all methane pollution mostly from cattle, it has the most immediate effect on the atmosphere.
