Why turn one book into one movie, when you can turn it into two? Despite -Mockingjay- being the weakest book in -The Hunger Games- series, movie execs have decided to translate it into a two-part film. Angry Nerd explains why the stretch from one to two is a terrible trend that needs to end

Movies are known to summarize. And the mocking jay book was fast paced and overflowing with plot information that only seems to boil over even MORE as it goes along. If Mockingjay was NOT split in 2 parts the amazing development of the characters that was widely ignored will be destroyed in all sense that there would be NO reason to watch the movie in the first place. Do you really want all this important plot information to be summarized to the point of nobody understanding what the heck is going in the entire movie (for everyone who hasn't read the book) and having a dramatic movie ending to an amazing dystopian series of our decade be destroyed. If anything, the author should have split Mockingjay into 2 separately name book to better elaborate on this fast paced piece of art mistakenly seen as cliche to the ignorant.

The whole time I was watching this I was thinking why hasn't he mentioned the terrible, over complicated Hobbit -trilogy-. In adding in all the detail from the Silmarillion, and background for ultimately meaningless characters, Jackson has lost the sense of adventure and confusion Bilbo has going through this journey. He has no idea who these dwarves are or where he's going, he just knows it's going to be an ADVENTURE. The book's strong point is that you have a character you can clearly identify with in Bilbo. He's confused and not sure where he's going. The book was written with this viewpoint, and Jackson has gone and messed it all up with fan fair by jumping around to different perspectives and boring characters.

-unpopular opinion time-
The Matrix should have been 4. It felt like they crammed a bit too much in between the finish of 2 and the end of 3. The final battle was great, but there was so much more they could have explored inside the Matrix before Neo pulled the savior card. Perhaps a human effort, inside the Matrix, to pull the machines just a weee bit onto the 'save humanity' side. Something that would makes sense, that would have some reason as to why the machines listen to Neo and let him talk when he shows up, instead of offing him right on the spot (which is what should have happened.

Sequels - Clint rides one more time go on punk. Just joshing. Damn confusing having so many films in my head, can it be that I've never thought -there should be a(nother) sequel to this-.
Pokemon and Turtles, funny thing when I was coming up I was proly too old for both and my view is that both were mega franchises designed to rip off parents (and kids) with nerdy tendencies through endless amounts of merchandise. So, never liked either and have a good reason to hate both with a passion and to look down upon my immature peers who fell for this crap to this day. Digimon Chris tut tut.

I agree 100% Angry dude - this trend is better of stretching the middle so we see more material. I believed Mocking jay was less interesting book our of the trilogy. I would have much rather preferred Catching Fire 1 & 2. In saying that - I wasn't sure how I would react to the movie - but I did enjoy it. Hopefully part 2 isn't stretched out. I think Twilight could have clearly gotten away with one movie. Harry Potter - well, I'm still out on that one. Have a good one: )

I have read The Hobbit both forward and backwards and will not deny that the Five Armies should be split into two parts while in the making as Peter Jackson has enough time to follow through with this. Also, the original Spiderman series was my favorite installment of Spiderman on screen and I wish Toby Maguire could've hung around for a 4th installment of that series

Pokemon 1: mewtwo strikes back. The new one or the extended one would have more of a focus on mew's origins while still having the same focus on mewtwo and his murderous ways. Or just having a movie version of the first 3 entries of the Pokemon adventures manga, just take out the part where the Arbok's head is cut off and DON'T MAKE IT LIVE ACTION!

If Percy Jackson was able to make the books-to-movie up to the last book, they would be able to pull off splitting it into two movies due to the war in the middle of the book. Like have the first part stop as the big battle is about to start. (Hopeful, if they try to do this, they don't make the rest of the books suck til the final book XD)

The Hunger Games is a blatant cash grab aimed at the preteens and intellectual (almost twilight ) fangirls who couldn't care less about whose money they're spending. If anything I feel sorry for every pitiful soul that ended up being dragged to both of these wafer thin movies (wishing that they were watching battle royale instead)

I felt that Ender's game needed more than one movie because they had to forcefully push all the events and that it went too fast, giving no time to let things sit and be enjoyed rather than force all of it into one movie as fast as they can.
