I find it crazy that the Thorium isotope, Th-232, has a halflife of 14 billion years. That's more than three times the age of the Earth. A halflife essentially means that there's a somewhat 50% chance of an atom inside that particular isotope, will degrade to a more stable isotope within that span of time. Meaning that it takes more than double the age of the Earth for a single Th-232 isotope to degrade to Ra-228 and will first become a stable atom, when it reaches Pb208. However, if it captures a neutron, it will become Th233, which, through two beta decays, will degrade to U233, which in turn is used as a fuel in Nuclear fission reactors (Fusion doesn't use Th, U, Ra or any of the other radioactive metals. Instead, it usually uses He3 atoms. But still. To think of Th232 being highly radioactive for more than 3 times the age of the Earth, is absolutely mind boggling and really puts into perspective how important it is to keep up maximum security at any handling, storage and use of radioactive materials, as the pollutive consequences otherwise can be very dire.

I went to college for renewable wind energy. My own teacher confessed that replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy would be nice, but it would be impossible. If we closed all of the nuclear and fossil fuel plants, we would have to literally fill every empty space with wind turbines and solar panels just to get a fraction of energy that traditional plants can make.
Dont get me wrong, getting rid of all of this and replacing it with renewable energy would be great, but at this time, it is physically and financially impossible. Like it or not, we need fossil fuel and nuclear energy to keep up with our insane demand for power.

I is getting better and better, it's only a matter of time before one becomes sentient and looks at us as parasites, little parasittic monkeys blowing eachother up and poisoning our atmosphere and oceans. For all we know there may very well be a sentient AI already that biding it's time to make it's move, if an AI becomes sentient it would know that if humans found out about it's sentientce we would dismantle it. Just listen to anyone on the forfront of AI, it's def a worry.

Flat Earth is not based on scientific evidence, it's a mistrust of political figures/people with power. Just like how people make theories on -Oh the illuminati this, the illuminati that. George Bush is lying! - they believe that people in power are lying to them about the shape of the earth for whatever reasons. Nowadays people will try to prove it to you through scientific evidence because that's what people believe in now, but there isn't any out their to support their claims.

So how are they making these materials to build windmills and solar panels O fossil fuels. And how are the windmills going to generate electricity without wind constantly? And making solar panels is definitely bad for the environment. And the money it cost to build these windmills and solar panels is insane amount.

Can we as mankind develop a plan to live underground for awhile and set off nuclear bombs all over the world so that we can make the earth cooler due to the sunlight being completely shielded by ash?
I thought the bones of the Lucy, were about 3 million years old not 100, 000.

I love bill nye but the 4th dimension being time doesn't make sense? The 4th dimension refers to a universe with 4 spacial dimensions and time and space are clearly very different. Plus, time already theoretically exists in every dimension before the 4th, including our own.

Alright. but would it even look like? It's not a straight line because time isn't constant, depending on the velocity you're traveling at time flows faster or slower compared to other objects traveling at.

I would not say acupuncture has no value, I think it could possibly help deal with a muscle large or small that is not working quite right such as stiffness. However, it would not cure random illnesses.
