Artist Jeremy Mayer has dedicated himself to transforming mechanical typewriter parts, and only typewriter parts, into detailed sculptures of birds, insects and human figures

Everything about this screams genius. The limitations he imposes to create greater organicity and to surprise himself etc. the sheer uniqueness of it. the intuitive engineering without modification. the transposition of metal to organic suggestion while in noway losing the sense of the inorganic parts. the final synergism is organic with all inanimate components. His human model depicted reminds me of plastination. and the real joy he takes in process. this guy is a terrific artist.

I used to do that as a hobby but not with typewriters, it was like a mix of cheap drones and old toys. But like nowadays I-m too scared to break anything that isn-t already broken. And like I-d probably not break a broken typewriter either, they-re too precious.

Something you may want to look into to increase your abilities and make things a lot easier on a larger scale would be the components of a recliner.
And a powered recliner' imagine what you could do with that! Just look into it you'll be amazed.

I am just amazed at how someone would randomly say - Hey I want to make sculptures out of old typewriters - and make such divine and detailed sculptures. Huge props to him

They don't make typewriters anymore and it is sad to see those still around completely ruined: -( it's like watching the last few surviving lions being shot just for fun.

Imagine killing a person dissecting him, and then turning his guts, arms legs, everything withing his body into a typewriter.

Destroying typewriters that aren-t made anymore. shame. Could be refurbished to live on. I-m using a 75 year old one it-s like new.

Hey, that reminds me of my ex.
Cold, emotionless, and always exposing herself for a man with a camera.
