Tricking is a sport with roots in martial arts and elements of tumbling and breakdancing mixed in. The quadruple cork is tricking's ultimate feat: an off-axis backflip combined with four rotations in the air on a separate axis. WIRED's Robbie Gonzalez spoke with some of the best trickers in the world to find out how they do it, what makes it so hard, and whether anyone will ever manage to pull off a quint. I discovered tricking around 2011-12 ish. I think that-s when tricking was just popping off because I remember parkour/martial arts being my fav physical activity to do back then, and I stumbled upon tricking videos with Anis Cheurfa, Travis Wong, basically the OG legendary trickers. I was so in awe that I wanted to learn and try it out. Lord and behold, tricking became my new favorite sport. New trickers are lucky because there are SO many tricking tutorials out there now, which is great tbh. Lol So it-s great tricking is getting more recognition. Even in today-s video games and movies/shows.

6: 28 no. gymnastics is all about form and how pretty ur move looks and tricking is just about if u can land it or not. i prefer tricking cuz it doesnt take as long to learn flips cuz they dont have to look exactly perfect. because trickers dont have to have perfect form, they usually progress faster than gymnasts

Back in my day, in snowboarding and trampolining, a double cork was two semi-upside down moments, not a single cork with multiple spins. A quad cork here is a single cork with 4 spins(1440. If you look up quad cork 1440 snowboarding you'll see they go almost upside down four times. Not like these cheaters.

There-s no backflip until the rotation is turned over. Just because the cork is sideways doesn-t mean anything. I can jump and do a 360. I can go sideways for a 360. Same thing. So it-s the equivalent of a standing 900 or 1080.

So u literally rename an afrobrazillian marshal art called capoeira and call it something else. This is what people mean about cultural appropriation. It's cool if u wanna do it but call it what it really is

What a great video! This needs to be done on Calisthenics freestyle too; the dynamism is similar to tricking as well as movement and apparatus similarities with gymnastics. Would make a GREAT video.

Tricking is when a prostitute does -prostitute things- with their clients. Believe me. You dont want to be walking around talking about tricking

Its funny cuz shosei iwatomo has done a quad cork on concrete, quint on a tiny airmat, and a scoot quad cork with ease. and not that recently too.

I think not mentioning capoeira is disrespectful to the 500 years of development that went in to this before they started calling it -tricking-.

It's an excellent explanation to one that I didn't know what the jiros consisted of, but thank you very much, I'll put it into practice --
