In order to be a great Formula 1 driver, you need to have the cognitive capabilities of a chess grandmaster, the strength, stamina, and reactions of a fighter, and then you also have to have the endurance of a marathon runner. Former F1 performance coach Clayton Green breaks down precisely why they average person would be unable to drive a Formula One car and why the professionals are such unique athletes. K. M. V: You should see the Asian (Chinese and Korean mostly) and south Asian immigrants (Pakistani and east Indians) drive in my country. They can t handle a regular car let alone and Indy car hahahaha. I seen a Pakistani pull a u turn on a 4 lane street with rush hour traffic in Toronto. Some other that drive transport trucks are down right terrifying how they drive but anyone that can afford it can easily get their AZ license (transports with Air brake, dump trucks and anything with air brakes)

With or without a strong sized neck, we humans don t have the right kind of brain that is truly capable of driving. We don t have all the types of attention necessary, and can t use our different attention needed, simultaneously. Which is why we are advancing to self-driving cars, computers are far more able to utilize all the types of attention that are required to safely drive a car. Which we have known, since the scientists proved it in the 1960s, that humans are seriously not able to provide the various, simultaneous, types of attention that are required to simply drive a car without harm.

I think this discussion been had about a thousand times and it always annoys me because it always mislead people into thinking F1 car is hard to drive while in truth it s probably easier than a manual transmission regular car. I think yes, average person can drive an F1 car over a lap with an uncompetitive laptime, but an average person wouldn t stand a chance over a race let alone grand prix weekends due to the point this video is stating.

Even though I have never driven a racecar professionally, I always considered it a very grueling sport. Anyone that's ever driven a hundred miles on a regular road trip should understand that, at the very least, it's hard to concentrate after a while. To take it a step further, anyone that's raced go carts can tell you that it requires agility and quick decision making, and when the race is over, you're tired and sweaty.

One might think that a reputable news agency would also use correct images and captions. For example, one lane that is there for the marshals has been labeled as the pitlane and only 30 seconds or so later you see the actual one. Of course these are small mistakes and it's not a dramatic mistake either, but such things can easily be avoided by investigating a bit more into the subject

You could drive it, casually around the track but not against other F1 drivers in a race. Cruising around at 80-90 K would be something must able bodied people could manage but not driving at 320-360 K for hours at a time while moving around other cars doing the same.

Are you mental! The last thing the drivers depend on to know the tyre degradation is their ears. The feeling of the car. the understeering. the lose of grip. all play way much important role to pit

It's clear the editor's don't know much about formula 1. This video isn't very accurate but it's still well made and easily digestible for people who aren't into formula 1.

I dont understand why people watch all these Fibonacci levels and stress themselves out with trading when they can just deposit coins in reliable projects like PapayaHub!

Hate F1 ticket pricing, total scam to entice elites to come. Making it an exclusive sport. 2k to sit down in a corner and over 10k for a paddock pass
Shame on you

I don t wana be that person.
But y all really think women will be able to compete at this level? Without them fundamentally changing the cars and rules?

In my opinion, the title is a bit misleading because the average human can drive an F1 car, but the average human couldn't drive it safely in an actual race
reply

Im pretty sure most humans with a drivers license could figure out how to drive an F1 car at 1-2 Kph, we just would crash much faster than that.

My respect for Fernando Alonso increased tenfold after watching this, he s 42 and got better reflexes than most of the young drivers
reply

'The average reaction time for regular humans is 500ms'. No, it absolutely isn't. The average for a young human is in the range of 160-220.

Why is every b-roll still of braking showing a car spinning? Clearly not edited by anyone who has actually watched Racing of any kind.

Most importantly, you also need to be born into a wealthy family. I don t remember having a Formula program at my high school.

5: 18 waaaaat because Lando Norris plays video games he doesn't know when to pit? As if he hasn't been racing open wheel for years
reply

you can tell that the people making the video itself (no I don't mean the performance coach) don't know much at all about F1
