Reptile expert and host of JayPrehistoricPets Jay Brewer visits WIRED to answer your questions from Twitter. How do chameleons change the color of their skin? What s it like to be bitten by a venomous snake? Are giant iguanas dangerous? Jay answers these questions and more, alongside some reptile friends to help him fully explain. nickolas: I feel it's important to point out that this man is an awful person and abuses his animals. He's known to breed his animals with severe deformities that result in cool patterns or colors. These deformities, however, also result in blindness or neurological issues, etc. For example, spider ball pythons tend to lose their natural gyroscope and essentially live in vertigo constantly due to the way their genes function in regards to the pattern that gives them the name spider ball python. This means that they don't have control over how they move and can't even eat their food without it being placed directly into their mouths. They have an intense wobble that's completely debilitating and results in a disabled, unhappy animal. There are many more issues with this guy, but I encourage everyone here to research it for themselves so we can maybe take this guy down once and for all!

Jay: Pythons lay eggs and Boas have live birth.
Me, trying to determine the constrictor I am facing: BREED, REPTILE.
Despite the energy he exudes, he doesn't seem to answer the questions as intended.

I loving Jays positive energy on teaching us about animals. Please have him come on often Wired. This was so fun to watch. His high end energy is contangious in a good way. :)

Now I'm imagining someone trying to tell if a snake is a python or a boa by waiting around to see if it gives birth or lays eggs. Not a very practical way of telling the difference.

We are much closer in time to a T-Rex than a T-Rex was to a Stegosaurus
That really put things in perspective for how massive a time span dinosaurs were around

Please do not sponsor this guy anymore! Look up the video The problem with prehistoric pets and reptile zoo. This dudd Jay is an irresponsible animal keeper!

For iguanas, screw the claws and teeth, it's that tail you gotta watch out for! My buddy hat a 4 footer and the thing whipped my ankle so hard I bled.

Reptiles are endangered, as far as I'm concerned. We should take into consideration just how much they've contributed to ecology.
