I don't understand. If the heat in peppers is merely mental based on the reaction with capsaicin and TRV, why are there issues caused with digestion and hot food? Peppers can definitely have an impact on things like acid reflux and IBS, so I don't get how Ed can say that peppers can't hurt you. I mean, they actually can.

Fascinating video. I was thinking that's random, bringing in a pepper expert but I really enjoyed it. He answered the questions really well and clear, and even answered a long-standing question I've had (about how exactly the Scoville scale measures the hotness of peppers.
