the Alliance is full of self righteous, hypocritical pricks but these two. Malfurion and Tyrande. they are the most self righteous and hypocritical of the whole lot. Im glad my only night elf is a demon hunter. I agree that it was honourless and disgusting how they're home was burned and countless innocents were killed that day, but, like Genn Whitemane and Jaina Proudmoore (I use Jaina loosely here cus she does show that she does want peace, unlike the other three, they're using that tragedy as an excuse for they're prejudice against ALL of the Horde. Some people like to say that the Horde are the -true bad guys- in WoW, but have you noticed that, with the exception of one or two individuals, the Tyrants and Murderers whom where the front and centre of quite a few expansions are either now dead, debased or have been removed from power not just from the Alliance but from the Horde as well. The Alliance on the other hand have Warmongers (theres no other word for it) still in their seats of power (with Genn as the ADVISOR to King Anduin) and are constantly dressed up as the -good guys-. Sure these people all had tragedy in their lives but that does not excuse the slaughter and exile of many innocents in the Horde. It seems that much of the Alliance is gripped not with compassion, but with Prejudice and the single-minded pursuit of Revenge and the thirst for Blood.

Can everyone stop with the love for Illidan and hate for Tyrande and Malfurion? Youre acting as if Illidan was a unjustly called a traitor and had to act the villain all this time. But dont forget that Illidan willingly betrayed the Night Elves in the First Invasion because he was jealous of his brother. Yes I know it was to attack the Legion from within but after the Legion was destroyed, He brought back the same damn Well that attracted the Legion in the first place. Illidan's actions are not just black and white. They have been and always will be grey. But to call out and hate on Tyrande and Malfurion and to justify Illidan's actions are absurd. This is the guy that willingly lied to his brother about the Lich King being the real enemy of the Kaldorei in an attempt to explain why he almost destroyed Northrend when in fact he was taking orders from Kiljaeden. And you can clearly see that with the Lich King out of commision the Maw is growing restless, which means it wasn't a good idea. And in the events before the Burning Crusade, while the blood elves were starving from magic exhaustion and the people of Outland needed him he was locked behind his castle. Yes he was preparing for an attack on the Legion but Illidan's actions have always been a double edged sword. They would help but the cost is too great.

I like how people are giving Malfurion shit cus they got emotional lol. Malfurion fought Azshara, the burning legion, the dreadlords, he battled in the War of the Ancients, defeated Archimonde. Defeated Xavius. Saved Darkshore by creating a giant never ceasing whirlpool and then traversing the emerald dream. With help, he ended the emerald nightmare. Helped defeat Ragnaros and for 10 thousand years defended his people and their land. When the horde marched to his land, he killed an entire horde army and dueled sylvanas and almost killed her. What he did for Azeroth and his people rivaled that of Illidan-s. But because he imprisoned his brother for a crime, illidan himself owned up to, now Malfurion is a dick and a bad person. Both brothers made mistakes but both are good badass characters. Stop being too emotional lol.

I honestly cant blame Malf or Tyrande at all consider what Illidan did in tbr past with repeated genocode. Not to mention Blizzard's writing has always been at best average and at worst retcon central.
Also seriously Illidan did a ton bad in both books and games and people just completely overlook it and call him a hero due to Blizz trying to hype him up to sell more merch of him?
Tyrande and Malfurion are both flawed characters, but they did nothing wrong in having a huge bas history with Illidan and his non-retconned grab for power for mainly sole personal gain that includes slaughtering of innocent civilians! You can like Illidan, I just ask you dont jump on the hate train for two characters that didn't do an anything wrong!

You know, when I first listened to Malfurion and Tyrande's responses in game, I was mad at them, thinking that they were completely blowing him off and disregarding his ultimate sacrifice for the sake of the world. But, re-listening to it here, I realize that Illidan's outlook is actually sinking in, as Malfurion understands to not focus on personal matters and instead focus on the well being of the world, and Tyrande understands that Illidan now has a duty that will protect Azeroth from one of our greatest enemies. And if your thinking that they are throwing all this out the window in BFA, I think they are entitled to some outrage for their home being burned down.

Illidan is by far one of the best written characters in warcraft lore, he is neither good or evil, all he did was to save azeroth and in process been branded traitor, demon and everything in between. he may have caused damage and pain in his way, but his brother malfurion have indirirect caused more when he stopped illidan from sinking northrend and banished him so he was not part of war of mount hyjal. Illidan is one of the few characters who do not have his head up his ass and belive in a force to save azeroth such as the light, rather he belived in himself and what he was capable of.
reply

Illidan unironically needed to be denied Tyrande. Every time he tried to have what he wanted, it backfired and hurt him horribly. Illidan had to lose everything to live without compromise or fear and to do what was truly necessary. In the end, Illidan was able to forgive the people who held nothing but contempt and distrust for him because he understood why and was able to let go of his animosity towards them for it. In Velen, he found a real brother.
Based.

Unfortunately I think Legion is going to be the last great expansion in world of Warcraft.
The writing for illidan was some of the best in world of Warcrafts history. I honestly could not imagine how they could not follow up Legion with something even better but they managed to produce the worst follow-up to an expansion and then it just all went downhill from there.
I hear the raids in shadowlands are really good but I'll never know.

Tyrande and malfurion are the must stuck up people ever when it comes to illidan, ' eh i wonder if he wasnt just lying' eh my brother was so selfish and and hurt so many people,
He didnt hurt thousends of people and he didnt make a single selfish choise, and how can you even think of hes last words as a potential lie?
Im no illidan fanboy but this just pisses me off

reply

Not to make the Illidan fans upset but my god what a terribly written character. In WoW he is like a parody of his former WC3 self.
And the voice acting here is. Interesting. And by interesting I mean painful to hear. Fitting that the -end- for such a poor character is this mess.

reply

Malfurian is like that successful but ordinary kid which society approves and loves; where Illidan is the special one with high potential and gets excluded for doing things society doesnt have enough vision to do and also see what he always wanted was for the good.
reply

Since warcraft 3 I always knew that Illidan's demonic forms were for the better good in end. It looks like my childhood thoughts were rights. This is very emotional actually and he is always most loved character in the whole series no matter how much damage he does.
reply

Tbh they both responded like assholes to him this is a person who has literally sacrificed everything he could to fight off the greatest threat azeroth had ever faced. Malfurion saying he would never forgive illidan even when he had proven himself
reply

The most fascinating thing? Illidan. really didn't do anything all that bad. Malfurion and Tyrande were just butthurt because he chose to become a demon. He accepted that power to protect them, but they were never able to see past their prejudices.
reply

If there's only 3 things I envy in life, the OP voice of Illidan's voice actor is one of them. And the other one is the voice actor's wife, having to hear this voice all day.
The moment he said -Take care of Tyrande- I broke into tears.

reply

Illidan's inclusion in Legion was very underwhelming. This is really the only attempt the game made to actually explore Illidan as a character and to connect him with his past, and it's so underwhelming.
reply

Illidan is a really complex character, and arguments can be made on both sides on how he's incredible or absolutely terrible. In the greater scheme of things though, he did do more good than bad.
reply

These speeches still wreck me, because, at the exact same moments, Liam's dnd character was also leaving that sphere as well. So those of us invested in both, lost both within mere days of each other
reply

Imagine if they connect Illidan to Shadowlands and ask him to bring Sargeras for help, Sane Sargeras ofc. that'd make the best exp ever! (I hope they somehow link it together for the next expansion)
reply

I don't care what everyone says. Even called The Betrayer, even hated by everyone. he was the biggest hero that Azeroth has ever seen. Rest in peace, the Illidari will always remember.
reply

champion, champion, champion, champion, champion, champion. Blizzard sure tries to ruin every cutscene and voice line in this game, no matter how good the lore of it is.
reply

I mean the guy voice acting has awesome voice and all but the breathing out of the excess air after every single of his sentences nerves me as hell.
reply

Losing Illidan again had broken my heart. As one of the comments below mentions, I'm glad that world tree got torched. They were horrrrrid to Illi.
reply

They don-t even acknowledge my boy. and the sacrifice he made in the end. They just brushed him off like he wasn-t important. How rude
reply

Malfurion truly did love his brother you can tell he was getting pretty upset. Tyrande on the other hand just seemed so cold in response
reply

Tyrande's response of - I could find myself to speak to him- = -We could not find time to animate this scene in the game nor write it-
reply

This right here is why to this day I dont like Malf and Tyrande. they should have been in the tree when Sylvanas burned it
reply

-Sorry I tried to steal your girl like a billion times, Brother. I forgive her for choosing you- basically what I just heard.
reply

Illidan saves Azeroth time and time again, and neither Malfurion nor Tyrande give him any credit in the end. Damn shame.
reply

It's not because your brother is your brother that he can try to bang your wife. I mean, I would be upset too.
