Bravery & Defiance to the very end in front of your possible demise against what is unjust and evil to protect what you love the most, to deliver a safer world. What most people fail to understand is that based to the whole WoW history so far, Varian is the only hero who did not try to use enemy's power against them, but he charged relying on his own will, power, resources and determination onto the enemy - before losing someone that he loved a lot to get fueled with vengeance or courage. All rest heroes or antiheroes more or less used the first or the latter to endure or to boost their stamina along the way. Where the lore failed tremendously for me is having Sylvanas watching all and learning absolutely nothing (apart from all the rest with subjugation to the Jailor horsesh-t) Only tears for this leader. I am Alliance but matters not, all factions should bow down to Varian's undisputed glory and sacrifice. Well past the bounties of a simple warrior commander, he became the true essence of what a paladin is, combining his warrior strength along with his son's affinity for the Light as a priest, a sacrificial heroic figure becoming the best of both. Strength and Inspiration. The truth of what a hero is lays in the middle, cause good intentions sometimes demand action, and blind action is nothing if not backed up by hope and the need to protect what you love the most. HAIL VARIAN!

Anduin: I cannot do this, Father. I can't be the hero you were. I can't be the -king- you were.
Greymane: Anduin, your father's actions were indeed. heroic. They were his challenge to us, his people, to -never- let fear prevail. (places Shalamayne into Anduin's hands) Even at the very gates of Hell.
(Anduin then sees a vision of him surrounded by the statues of Stormwind's previous leaders. and his father standing before him with a proud smile)
Anduin: Wh-What am I supposed to do -now-?
Varian: What a king -MUST- do.

I maybe a horde player but Varian deserves the up most respect from all races anyone who disagrees didnt truely get to know him that well.
Farewell Varian you were one of the greatest warriors and by far the most respectful the allience lost one of the greatest when they lost you.
May you rest and know you will be in the hearts of all both allience and horde alike

When I listen to this, I can feel the monumental loss ringing in it for the Alliance. Even though I came to this world long past this loss and chose to bear arms against those who continue on in his name, I still feel it resonate with me.
To me, this song's name is simple. -The Trials of Kings-. The trial of sacrifice for the father, and the trial of leadership for the son.

What a sad fate to die. Nothing left to burry and imagine the pain Anduin must have felt to lose a dad like that. When he used his power to restore his army in that cinematic scene with Alliance vs Horde, you can see he was thinking of his dad to make him as proud as possible and helping the alliance not just the Alliance but also helping the Hordes.

I think World of Warcraft lost its way when it wound up killing off most of its Heroes the first place. they retired Thrall not that he didn't deserve peace, they killed off Vol'gen, Arthas was destroyeD. Bane. and they truly done nothing to bring any wondrous and fantastic back into the story

True hordie here. But two of my favourite characters out of the three main ones i love, Jaina and Anduin, are alliance. Varian was epic and his son is too. Varian died like any true orc would want to die. If the horde saw how he died. They would respect him a lot more i believe.

I-ve read all the books with Varian in it. He is hands down the most well written character in all of Warcraft lore. He-s my absolute favorite. Even his death scene was executed wonderfully. Even though it always could have been better. I still miss his character.

Just listen from 7: 45 - 9: 10
This is a masterpiece fitting to a King as Varian Wrynn.
Never forgotten, True warrior who died with honor and with a Lion in his Hearth!
Proud to be member of Alliance, led by such a King!

In the pic that starts - the 2: 00 minute mark, obviously there's Anduin, Jaina, and who is the third, the night elf lady. I 'want' to say Tyrande, but I'm fairly sure I'm wrong on that one.

I know it's sound crazy or something, but I would love for Varian being raised as DK and still rule as the High King of the Alliance, ofc if his souls and body wasn't destroyed by Gul dan.

Still coming back to this even though it's been years. Alliance Grand Marshal player from vanilla. Awesome to see the horde pay they're respects. Varian was a true leader in this storyline.

This is peak World of warcraft here the emotion that went into the expansion supersedes anything they've ever done it felt as you as the player had a duty to destroy the villain.

Sometimes something we do might mean little to us, but might mean a lot to others. And this is in my opinion maybe the best versions of his theme song -----

It's
Varian: Hey boy, What are you waiting for? The goodtimes, the stars, the sun! . It's time for you to pick yourself up and move ahead.
Anduin: Alright then!

No king rules forever, but lives in the hearts of all those they touched. Though the the horde now has my house, the alliance shall always be home.

Were certain parts of this video cut? I remember a while ago my favorite part of the song was around 7: 20 but with stronger music and drums.

It's one of those themes that, if you're an hypersensitive like me, just brings you tears to your eyes as soon as that flute starts playing.
