I might be one of the psychopaths who enjoyed Shadowlands but even I have to agree that the lore was absolute garbage. They told us nothing up until End of Eternity where we had a massive disappointment of Blizzard trying to pretend Sylvanas is a well-written character. Don't get me wrong, Sylvanas was a great character at first but her story took a massive downturn after MoP.
Honestly I didn't even play the last patch of Shadowlands that much mainly because of how disappointed I was in how they wrote the lore. This expansion could've been so much more if they didn't rush everything like they always do.

They did my man Arthas dirty as hell! Like, Arthas IS Warcraft. Literally the protagonist of the entire two games that we all cherished and loved. You got Freaking JAINA PROUDMOORE right there, the girl who fought side by side and saw him fall to the dark side. You mean to tell me that SYLVANAS gets the last words to Arthas over JAINA? CMON show the king the RESPECT he deserved. I swear to god, writers of Blizzard just spat on the face of the entire fandom of Warcraft with this one scene. My man deserved better. -_--

I'm not a wow player, but it always upset me that all the characters talk so very VERY poorly of Arthas, the lich king wasn't him, it was the crown and the sword he wasn't him in charge of his body, yes he was a fool to think he can control such cursed artifacts but he just wanted to protect his kingdom, his country, he died as a monster and in the end not even his soul remain, nothing, just the memory of his acts as the lich king
so cruel and sad end for a man how just wanted to do good

Every time i see sylvanas talk down to arthas it hurts. after all she did she has zero room to talk. The only one who could have truly judged him there was Anduin, Should have had Anduin do it, with a LITTLE bit of sorrow and understanding, since Anduin was on the exact. Same. Path.
The only real difference is the support he got to break him out.

Why is she not being murdered? didnt she literally commit genocide against the night elves? didnt she literally cause civil war within the Horde?
Blizzards storytelling is so awful and her plot armor is more than anything ive ever seen in fiction.

Sylvanas is not redeemed to the sane, she is still around so Blizzard can continue to use her for merch. Not giving Arthas a way back, villain or otherwise, was a waste. Why have him back at all? To be a little blue dot? The writers here have ruined so much about this game that its no shock that its numbers keep dropping.

While I agree that blue fart Arthas was a massive letdown, I think that was the point.
We were supposed to be disappointed and annoyed that the jailer had reduced him to something so insignificant. Our irritation is supposed to tell us something here.
