Sabellian is the only right choice. He is a mature dragon who has bided his time in Outland and cleansed the madness that was afflicting the Black Dragonflight; If not for him, the flight would be done for good, every black dragon outside of Wrathion and Ebonhorn is part of Sabellian's brood and in control of the madness of the flight. Osoria even tells us that since then, they have brought Blade's Edge Mountains under control as a home for the black dragonflight.
Sabellian chose to fight the corruption by bringing it under control, he did not give up on the flight, and has come back stronger for it.
In the meantime, what is Wrathion and what has he done? A 12 years old whelp with an obsession for the seat of a father that isn't even his, and whose first order of business was to murder EVERY. SINGLE black dragon on Azeroth so he could claim being the true rightful heir by virtue of being the only one left (Ebyssian being unknown at the time.
Then comes Pandaria, his actions were first to undermine the factions and fuel the war in a land that is extremely receptive to strong emotions. When that failed, he turned to helping the Zandalari in raising the Thunder-King, unleashing the greatest tyrant of Pandaria's history back again, so he could then gobble his Titan-Keeper heart and the power in it.
After that, he associated with Kairozdormu in creating the Vision of Time and freed Garrosh from his imprisonment, bringing on the whole plot of WoD, causing countless additional unneeded deaths in a timeline that shouldn't hav been, and subsequently causing the new invasion of the Legion. Invasion during which he was conveniently absent, as were his Blacktalons.
And when BFA came, he only cropped up when N'zoth was involved because of the lure of yet more power in the form of Xal'atath, and even that he couldn't do without risking corruption (as shown by his future Black Emperor form [Say all you want, I doubt this was just an illusion] and his refusal to approach the Carapace)
Wrathion, for all his claims of helping Azeroth, has caused nothing but death and chaos upon it. He is a main factor in weakening the factions before threats crop up.
Sabellian is the true heir to Neltharion, while Wrathion is only the heir to Deathwing.

Wrathion has made extremely rash decisions. Sure, he did things for the greater good in his mind, which is what an aspect should do. But that doesn't mean letting people needlessly die. The entire point is he feared the Legion would invade, but his meddling almost directly caused the invasion. However, foresight can be a tricky ability.
Sabellian doesn't care about the rest of Azeroth. He already committed heinous acts with his father and only near the end did he start to work against it. But he only cares about his flight. Sure that's a good thing, however that's not the point of a dragon aspect. The dragon aspects are meant to protect MORTAL lives. Sabellian doesn't give a singular shit about the rest of Azeroth. Woo-hoo he protected and saved his flight from extinction, that's an entirely different commendation though.
In my mind Ebyssian is the best choice. But he swore to protect the Highmountain. But he's older than both and has seen way more. Plus he is completely free of the clutches of the old gods where even Wrathion said he felt swayed by them, despite being purified as an egg.

The leader of the Black Dragonflight is the -Earth Warder- and Sabellion hasn-t been on Azeroth. He doesn-t have a right to the claim, he wasn-t there to see Azeroth dying. Sure Wrathion helped kick start a lot of that and he-s gotten too big for his britches but he was actively trying to do his best in a very bad situation. As a child. And as an adult during BFA, cleansing Ebyssian once he knew how, promising to protect Azeroth alongside her champions.
Sabellion might have the age and experience but he should be an advisor, he wasn-t there. He doesn-t know what happened, he doesn-t know the fine details, he doesn-t know anything. I don-t blame him for it, but I do think it disqualifies him.
As for Ebyssian? Let him be happy in Highmountain. Dude doesn-t want leadership and I don-t blame him.

I could talk about Sabellian being the last son of Neltharion, about him having at least ten thousand years more of experience, or about Wrathion nearly causing the destruction of Azeroth. But I think the only thing that matters when deciding who should lead their dragonflight, is what they actually did for their dragonflight. Wrathion murdered countless of his own kin, almost causing their extinction. He never did anything to help his people, or to save his flight from doom. Sabellian, on the other hand, saved his flight. Without him, there wouldn't be any black dragonflight to rule over today. Rather than kill his people, he spent his time cleansing them from their corruption, which he himself overcame. Sabellion is the real Black Aspect. I don't understand how is this even a question.

Honestly I -want- to vote Wrathion, he's been my fave since MoP, but it's almost impossible for me to see him as a decent leader when Blizzard just made him cause WoD and Legion on a narrative whim that they clearly never thought through, and instead of just going -Oops our bad'' keep doubling down and making Wrathion look like some homicidal maniac who's willing to sacrifice anyone to achieve his goals, all while insisting he's just -fighting for the Greater Good- (never heard THAT one before. -)
. But Wrathion is on all the official art and loading screen so either he's gonna get some serious character development (Doubtful) and become leader, Sabellian's gonna turn out evil leaving Wrathion the leader, or they're going to become a joint leadership. But he's definitely going to win.

Sabellian - loyal to his flight, oldest black dragon (was born Pre-Deathwing, thus older than Onyxia, Nefarian -and- Ebyssian, saved and protected his kind. Didnt cause Burning Legion invasions etc.
Wrathion - wiped out his own flight (even claims in MoP that to his knowledge, he's the last remaining black dragon, has only mortal races with him (His agents are all mortals, no dragonkind, ''prepared'' us for an invasion of the Burning Legion - which he in turn actually caused to begin with due to saving Garrosh and thus causing AU Gul'dan to get to MU Azeroth and start the invasion.
Hmm. think I'll take the one that didn't cause the biggest Legion invasion of time, and thus -almost- destroyed Azeroth. Sabellian it is.

I've actually been waiting to see if Blizzard would ever come up with this moment. Ever since I heard of Wrathion and his killing spree of his siblings in Cataclysm, I had wondered if he'd ever look to Outland and his kin there at all. Sabellian had been there the whole time, untouched since his questline avenging his kindred from Gruul the Dragonkiller. Still holding the line for Neltharion in Outland, completely abandoned and left alone in exile outside of Azeroth. The company might be shit, the game might be far behind its glory days, but at least the writers can remember to pull from the archives every now and again and find loose threads to finish up.
Now we just need them to acknowledge the Netherwings again.

Wrathion slaughtered all of his afflicted sisters and brothers, when Sabellian provided shelter to his kin in a world far from N'Zoth's madness. Wrathion later discovered the potion of purification, sure, but he did so quite shortly after he killed nearly all of his kind. Which makes the crime even less forgivable: he could have tried to capture at least some of them for later healing. But he didn't. he chose the easy, bloody path. -
Let Sabellian rule. He's older and has constantly been loyal to his flight, always trying to preserve his own. Wrathion is too impatient, reckless and a mass-murderer. Gosh, I really hate this character. x)

Honestly both Wrathion and Sebellion are smart in different ways and have flaws in different ways. It would be smart for them to -share- the throne though I doubt it will happen. They would be one of if not the most powerful flight with Wrathion's quick-thinking and cunningness and Sebellion's wisdom and leadership-mindset. It would be best for them to work off of each other so Sebellion can keep Wrathion in check with his child-like behavior at times and Wrathion could help Sebellion think outside the box instead of just being narrow-minded at times. -Best sibling duo- potentional.

Dragon aspect duty for being empowered is literal to protect Azeroth. Sabellian took care of the black flight. Wrathion didn-t. But unlike Savellian, Wrathion is actually out there TRYING to defend Azeroth. Even if he has fudged up at times. For job of leading the black flight, Sabellian would be better. But to be the aspect? Facts is, most people hadn-t heard of Sabellian FOR A REASON. And that is because he is focused on his flight and that-s it.
Even Kalecgos put aspect duties over flight, and he-s been doing all right.

Sabellian should be the Aspect; Why? Because 'almost' all of Wrathions achievements have been with the help of -THE CHAMPIONS OF AZEROTH- whilst Sabellian did it on his own (And by on his own I mean without the help of the millions of spergs that is 'Us' -
-Honor and glory didn't help defeat the Sha- Nah shes right; The players did.
And yes, another reason why Wrathion shouldn't become the leader is because he is a petulant child who whines to everyone else when he doesn't get what he wants.

-Sabellian rallied us on Outland, not only saving us from death, but from the corruption that befell our kin. All the rest--the other flights, glory-starved mortals, even that pretentious -prince---chose to murder the afflicted rather than aid us. -
Baaskilan, honestly makes the best point for Sabellian to lead over Wrathion. Wrathion literally, almost killed every black dragon on Azeroth, instead of helping them. He has no business to lead them.

Sabellian is the rightful heir of the Black Dragon flight. He cleansed them of Old God taint, protected them from the Gronns, formed and maintained friendships and mutually beneficial arrangements with other races. Sorry but Wrathion has no claim here.
Also, anyone notice that Black Dragons overwhelmingly choose Humans as their form? The goody two shoes Red, Blue, Bronze and Green dragons all choose Elves and Gnomes. But Black Dragons are humans.

Lmao, the defending of Wrathion in these comments. It makes no sense for Wrathion's actions to have -prepared- us for the Legion. He didn't. His actions killed some of our best heroes before the Legion even showed up, not to mention that him freeing Garrosh directly CAUSED the events of Legion to happen. This is bad writing, and makes no sense. Sabellian is the only logical choice between the two.

I'm pretty suspicious of Sabellian. When you talk to his flight, it's clear that there's some resentment they feel, not just towards Wrathion, but -all- the Dragonflights for -abandoning- them. We also know Ebyssian became vulnerable to Old God whispers when he left Highmountain. I tend to think the same could be happening to Sabellian now that he left Outland.

Wrathion is the only one to continue to uphold his charge given to the black flight or try to anyway while Sebellion has rebuilt and help cleanse the existing dragons of his flight. Both are needed though if I had to pick it would be neither Ebonhorn would be a better option though he would never take it he does have experience being an excellent advisor.

Sabbelian would be good dragonflight leader but terrible earth-warden. Wrathion would be good earth-warden but terrible dragonflight leader. Also like I don't want to be an ass but I would trust Wrathion with aspect power more than Sabbelian who used to be corrupted. Sabbelian sniffs a bit of that void meth and we have deathwing 2 on out hands.

I dont know why so many people want Ebyssian for the next Aspect of the Black-Dragonsflight, he has done nothing -for- the Black Dragonflight
Wrathion avenged the Black Dragonflight by killing N'Zoth, Sabellian keep the alive next generation of Black Dragon and a Clutch of Egg, and both recaptured the Obsidian Keep. Ebyssian none

Wrathion, Sabellian, and Ebyssian should form a council leadership since they'd make a good Freudian trio: Wrathion is impulsive and uses unorthodox methods, making him the Id. Sabellian is more levelheaded and conventional, making him the Ego. And Ebyssian acts more like an advisor dispensing wisdom, making him the Superego.

I feel like whoever ends up being the new Aspect should have the other as like the second or main advisor, because both have good points to them. Sabellian was a true Leader of the Black Dragonflight but Wrathion was a true Aspect in the sense that he devoted everything he had to defending Azeroth like an Aspect was meant to do

Hearing thier arguments, it is a hard choice.
There both dedicated to their kin. And have accomplished great things for thier Flight. But I still think I prefer Wrathion: his ELDER brother is to stern and single-minded. To survive on this more UNIFIED Azuroth, you need a flexibility I don't think he has.

I rather have Ebyssian. we have to choose between arrogant child who was told he was -special- since birth or the renegade probably still corrupted son of a traitor. I know Azeroth is watching like -one of these two are suppose to be my Earth-Warder? I should've just let Sargares have me. -

Clearly, Wrathion is more important due to the fact that he has a unique character model, whereas Sabellian looks like a regular ass human that anyone could make in character creation. -
On a different note: it must be hell laying those eggs, given how spiky they are. -

What if they end up making Ebyssian the leader? He has been a counsellor for cheiftans of the highmountain tauren so he already has that wisdom and the experience that would make him a great leader. Also he's good middle ground.
