Decent enough story so far. But if you're going to talk about weapons, you should at least get the terminology correct. There's a huge difference between clips and magazines. There's not a gun in existence that uses clips. Clips load magazines. Guns use magazines.
There's no such thing as assault rifle. Assault is a verb.
And it's amazing to me, this far into your story, that in America the only weapons these kids can find are the ones off the dead chinese, or old shotguns and hunting rifles. I mean, seriously. There's about 300 million firearms and several trillion rounds of ammo in the US. You can pretty much guarantee that, outside of maybe the most liberal cities, you could build a formidable arsenal, kits, and pretty much anything else you would possibly need without much effort.
Especially after a super quick die off as this story describes. There would have been no time to consume resources.

The P-36 Hawk built in 1944. .. Maybe! It was an export further, primarily. I was under impression it had been discontinued in production with USAAC acceptance of the P-40.
The Hawk was, by pre-war standards, heavier gunned with 2. 50cal firing sync'd thru the prop per wiki initially (inferred from quick scan of wiki's info)
Wasn't as fast as P-40, but, was very maneuverable - maybe on a par with the A6M Interesting Mr Medbury chose a pre-WW2 fighter.

This is one of the best sets of books. It takes you on a journey thru a maze of deeply tangled events that keeps you wanting more and more. I wish there were more books in this series, because Scott Medbury is one of the best writers of our time!
I have spent many hours while working, listing to these books, such a wonderful way to escape the realities of our current times and events while listening about them in a semi fictional form!

I love this series. I’ve tried out other books from this genre and always find myself realizing how unrealistic they are. There’s always that 1 person who has prepped for the end of the world. This series however, is amazing. Definitely buying the books and I can’t wait to hear more

You've built this wild west of a world. Maybe the fans can write their own stories within the construct of this world you've built. Fanfictions can sometimes bring the best out of a story, though I doubt anyone can top a single volume of the America Falls series.

im fairly new to audiobooks, but even i can recognize that this is a very well made masterpiece, the dedication, blood, sweat and tears put into these audiobooks is astonishing, and i really love the story.
