THE HISTORY OF MARY PRINCE by Mary Prince - FULL AudioBook Greatest AudioBooks I can scarcely believe the scope of man’s inhumanity to his fellow human beings. Even a dumb beast might fare better than these had. A person could even reason that if these dreadful excuses for humanity that owned these fellow humans considered them naught but chattel, they might have even considered the price of their replacement and for that reason alone one would think they wouldn’t mistreat expensive live property, or however they saw these poor people. The fact that they wouldn’t even do THAT seals in my mind the surety that they were just plain EVIL. If these human beings could only be thought of as low as beasts of labor, a reasonably prudent person wouldn’t work or beat the creature so that it could not labor, and that is just pure evil. It clearly shows they derived some hellish and perverse pleasure out of their beating a poor person nigh to death and working them through it all, it chills my bones! To what end, I ask Who would have thought that this evil could be so pure that the kindnesses shown by those who had SOME feeling would be longed for by the owned people, even though being slaves owned by another was so wrong in the first place It just goes to show that once you begin a wickedness like owning another human, you however unwittingly open the door to the severe depths of living hell they eventually suffered by others, not laying blame to themselves or seeing the connection between their wrongs and the worse ones that followed. Sad, sad, sad.

The wicked horrors with it's wholesale killing is very wicked. And this vivid description of Slavery is equally mind-numbingly evil. Yet, I think Abortion for Convenience is worse. And how many high minded hypocrites say 'lofty' sounding things about Slavery. accept ABORTION murder as a woman's RIGHT. God Have Mercy.

The history I've heard through my own white family with children being forced down chimneys and the way children and people were treated in service you realise slavery wasn't in just the dark skinned. children being torn from their mothers arms etc but nothing is mentioned about this when slavery is mentioned.

Beautifully read thank you. This is so hard to listen to, I need to take breaks, but what an important piece of history as seen from Mary's own experience. Unimaginable horror inflicted upon those poor people. I feel so blessed to be where I am in at this point in history.

When do black people get compensation. Jewish given isreal and slave owners in the carribean given compensation. History hidden half the atrocities not even mentioned. Africa raped. Truth needs to be taught in schools

Great reader. I wonder if Mary ever was reunited with her husband. I would be amazed if many of the highest positions of heaven are not occupied by ex-slaves like Mary. With love.

Someone here had commented that slaves masters in the South seems better than the masters in Europe, If you ask me they are ALL THE SAME BARBARIC Monster!

Black people should be reading these narratives. The voice is not right to tell this story. A Black voice is needed! Cannot listen any further.

Nothing is known about Mary’s epilogue. We don’t know if she even was reunited with her husband. I just looked it up.

I wonder why she didn’t send a letter or message to her husband. He could have traveled to England to be with Mary.

Somehow I find this readers voice and accent hard to listen to. Sounds completely unnatural as a reader
