I find Joaquin Phoenix fascinating, sensual, darkly intense and with moments of genius. I have not seen 5 of these movies, so I better kick back and start watching now. I did just rewatch We Own the Night. He stole that movie, he and Eva Mendes were on fire. The horrible death of River is haunting particularly as I become older and the truth is death and illness at times surrounds you. Makes me remember people in my personal life and a few actors that made a deep impression on me and when I see them forever immortal on screen, it is sad.
Joaquin Phoenix is a man who always has a tinge of sorrow in his eyes. Sometimes we see too much.

I first saw Joaquin as Commodus in Gladiator. I was so impressed with how he portrayed Commodus that I became a casual fan. I've only seen a hand full of his movies, Gladiator, Walk the line, 49? Ladders. Only just got around to watching Joker. and I loved it! He has now moved to my top 3 fav actors-.

I think that-s kinda funny how Joaquin Phoenix, who played Johnny Cash in Walk the Line was in a movie with John C. Riley, who played Dewey Cox in Walk Hard which was a parody of Walk the Line and several other movies from that era.

I love how they didn't even mention signs. He made out of been the lead role in that movie, but he was a lead role in that movie and I think he did really good and he was very young when he did that role
