Everybody got sick of Bill Murray, Steve Martin, John Candy and Chevy Chase after the 80s. They got sick of Adam Sandler, Robin Williams and Jim Carrey a few years after the 90s. They got sick of Will Farrell, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson by the end of the 00s. And in the 2010s Hollywood picked Seth freaking Rogan to replace them all! Now in the 2020's there is nobody even to supplant Rogan. RIP comedy movies.

The 2010s are the weakest decade for comedies since at least the 70s. The 80s have a lot. The 90s I would argue have the best comedies. The 00s are pretty amazing as well. But the 2010s suck.
Exceptions: Horrible Bosses, Between Two Ferns The Movie, Hot Tub Time Machine, Ted and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. But compared to the 80s, 90s, and 00s, the 10s suck comedy movie ass.
