Kate Winslet is a beautiful, talented actress. She's physically stunning. Her role as Hannah in -The Reader- has been the ultimate performance of her career to date IMHO. A very moving film for me personally based on a similar experience in Germany. I simply love this film. Bernhard Schlink's book, (Der Vorleser, is extraordinary. Do not deny yourself. See the film. Read the book. You too will be moved.

Sadly, I hated Titanic, but was good for her. She is AMAZINGLY TALENTED and I love her, but have to say, A Little Chaos and Mildred Pierce, plus the most recent Mare of East Town stand out for me ( Sense & Sensibility. Plus she gave us the iconic beat line for women from The Holiday: A woman ought to be the leading lady in her own life!

She was devastating in The Reader and deserved her Oscar win. The younger generation seems to prefer Spotless Mind or Titanic but for serious acting chops, my #1 pick is the one everybody should watch. It is an acting class in how not to let them see you acting.

Titanic is epic and a real masterpiece. But it wasnt her best acting.
Her performance in the reader was so powerful. But I do believe Eternal is her best work so far.
I hope she gets the emmy for Mare of Easttown. She was amazing in it.

She disapears almost seamlessly into every character, but in ESotM is unbelieavable, it-s every detail, every word, every gesture. She created Clementine perfectly. #1 for me too.
