Cool look at some hacker themed movies. Snowden is definitely #1 and should be top dog/1st. The courage it took for Snowden to do what he did to expose the US government's spy program. goodness! I would have placed Hacker/Darkweb in the top 5 as it's based on a true story + its storyline is good. Swordfish? Really -- sure it's a hacker film but not a good one. OMG It even got a razzie award which speaks for itself. You guys completely left out Wargames which is the quintessential classic hacker film and pretty much got the ball rolling as far as hacker themed movies go. You also left out Enemy of the State, another solid film. One could easily make an argument for any of the first four Jason Bourne movies, especially the 1st two-

23 shoud be on 1st place. 1. itst mostly how it look in that period of the time. 2. based of true story. while 23 is basicly version of hacker side of that story, there is a book The cuckoo's egg by Clifford Stoll that show the same story but from -victime- side. I higly recomend movie and book.
edit: why dont you add Jurasic Park ther was a hacking scene in the movie. And also ther was a movie -War Games-. but probobly no one here of that.

I don't fully agree with your list here. Hackers is a good movie but it tries to be too stylized, too cool, too young for its own good. I prefer a movie like Sneakers (1992) with Robert Redford and Dan Aykroyd which unfortunately isn't even mentioned here.

Snowden wasn't a hacker. He was a traitor (or hero, depending upon your viewpoint. But, definitely NOT a hacker. He had access. He just violated the terms of his employment contract by copying/disseminating info. He didn't -hack- anything.

Hackers and Swordfish aren't even good movies.
Most of the movies on this list I wouldn't even classify as -hacker movies- just -movies with a hacker in them-
War Games is the only good hacker movie and it isn't even on this list.

hacker and Hackers the best ones! Swordfish and Who am I are quite good and real. Hard die and The girl with the dragon tattoe are not about hackers! Snowden is good but fake. Blackhat good one. Missing The Net with Sandra Bullock! classic

Uhm you have the Millenium series twice so you should just make Black Hat part of the Top 10. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo IS the Millenium series, the Daniel Craig version is the English version of the first of the series. lmao xD
