All the chefs I have worked for have been mentors. SADISTIC mentors Nina: One time I was at this school competition for creative garnishing which was a timed event, and I was using toothpicks to hold all of my designs together. I was trying to push a toothpick through a thin piece of carrot (the final touch) and I ended up stabbing my finger, so I had to pull the toothpick out of my finger really quick without the judges noticing and finish my garnish because we had like 2 minutes left, thankfully I wasn't bleeding but it hurt like a mff.
