NOBODY HAD THE CHANCE TO BE TONY STARK - RDJ's Brutal Honesty on Screen Test Slick-Piccolo: without RDJ's role as Tony Stark's Iron Man, Marvel's Cinematic Universe would never have become a thing. because of how he portrayed his character, he not only became the start of the marvel cinematic universe, but also helped other actors get big roles as his own confidence and charismatic way of being helped make the movie set more of a play ground then a battlefield in terms of feelings, tohuht and stress etc.

People who read Ironman in the eighties and nineties knew that RDJ and Tony Stark had soooo many parallels in their lives. While RDJ is not a tech genius, he is a master of his craft that dealt with many of the same struggles that Tony Stark dealt with in the comics. This was a perfect casting because in many ways both the actor's and the character's lives were harmoniously in sinc with each other.

That endgame really made me tear up. Iron man is gone and I don't think I can watch another person being iron man. 1 wish, I wish they would bring Iron man back and what I mean by that is RDJ being Iron Man again. It mighy be possible cause look at Loki; -; He died a lot of times but here he is having he's own series--

That role was sole meant for him. The personal profile that Stark had in Marvel comics regards to battling his own issues it simply fit Downey as a glove! Robert simply owned it! Stark was no Superman and the character was to be slightly dark, cocky, but noble and likeable. Downy, I think must have thought, that's me.

I like RDJ very much but it doesn't change the fact that we love him because he is the one who played iron man. If some other actor was given the chance than he might have impressed us more.
Saying that no one could have done it better is just plain ignorance and nothing more.

I know he is the definitive Iron Man and because he's the only man who's played him on screen but I do wonder who could've played the role of Tony Stark besides RDJ. Who else in Hollywood could've been the front man that evolved the MCU into what it is today? Thoughts?

RDJ fits Tony's role so perfectly that I find it impossible to see anything he did previously without thinking it's some parallel universe version of Stark. I even appreciate the album he released, it's like if Iron Man was also a young Peter Gabriel.

I don't think the MCU series would have turned into such a major trilogy without him. Like any other person probably could have made it get another movie. But it probably would have been meh, to the point where they would stop working on it

Actors who are irreplaceable for their respective roles:
RDJ as Tony Stark/ Iron Man
Henry Cavill as Superman
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool
Heath Ledger as Joker
Tom Hiddleston as Loki

Perfection.
I remember being a kid watching iron man 1. Remember the ending. That incredulous feeling of being happy and excited to see a super hero just all out saying it. So damn epic.
I am iron man
