1st of all the music was very very close to ALIEN so ppl could think its stolen. 2nd, when you are watching an Astronaut in outer space entering another vessel with a GUN instead of a Helmet and a tank full of oxygene, you know for sure its an USAmerican movie. If there are more parts coming, i am not really intrested and i am LOVING Science Fiction since i learned to read 50 years ago. Sry to say, but it was wrong on so many levels, but i am sure it will get some likes because the pilot was cute

Hi Eli or anybody!
According to Eli, this is a love story.
An atropa is a flower from the nightshade familly (potatoes, tomatoes, belladonna being the poisonous cousin)
And yet, lf l could understand the correlation between the two, l would grasp the essence of the movie.
To understand Matrix, one would read Plato's cave, David Chalmers and Descartes.
Bling bling lighting. ominous music and good acting. yes. so what
I'm sure Eli has a message of some sort.

I always wonder why the only technology that never seems to have evolved in these future scenarios is night-vision equipment. I mean, we have extremely sophisticated NVG systems now - so why don't they have even more sophisticated ones in the future But no - in films like this one, Doom, and so many others, the military types all have to explore dark 'n' scary places like they're 1980s cops: holding a rubbishy little torch above an equally rubbishy gun.

7: 41 Guys, don’t line your beards like this. You can’t create a jawline where there isn’t one, just make the line further down where your neck actually meets your chin. This applies even if you have a double or triple chin. Trust me you’ll look a lot better just lining your beard properly. If you want another example check around the same time stamp in episode 3 of this series.

Looking good, gonna watch the other episodes.
What I like here in particular is that the vehicle of the Officer Cole is in need of a paint job, the hull lshows wear and tear. But I think it makes sense. Gritted by space junk, ultraviolet radiation, whatever else. Hard growth from space moss and tardigrades, lol. And maybe it has been in use for many years. The bigger ship looks a bit newer.

Hey everyone! Co-writer and director of ATROPA here. Very excited to share the series with you be sure to catch all seven episodes, releasing one-per-day this week. I'm happy to answer any questions below, and hopefully some of our awesome cast and crew will chime in as well. Many thanks to the team at DUST, and to everyone for watching and supporting the show. a flashlight in a time of ftl travel i would think a swarm of fireflies with sensors.
i look at these and can't get into them. you guys are all so good at this, but i don't care about the characters. i guess it's me, but i never know what is going on or whether i should like someone or not, and at the end i don't know what happened to who.

Holographic chess, transparent tablet and in same time some ridiculous screens styled as first steps of computer graphics instead of working control panels and achaic tumblers and buttons straight from 60s. Cheap office code lock at ships airlock. His gloves. strangly looks like gym gloves.

this was very good. I enjoyed it. one comment/question/slight criticism - it seemed odd to me that he would leave his craft and enter another one, completely unaware (or no reference to checking) if there is atmosphere or pressure and goes out in a t-shirt other than that loved it.

I am loving the story and the series, but the excessive use of lens flares serve no purpose. The beauty of a space SCI FI movies is the space environment and the objects that exist in it. Lens flares just cover it all up for no purpose other than the expression of the director's ego.

I honestly don’t understand why you so very talented people are not making major films & TV shows these shorts remind me of classic television the outer limits, the twilight zone, people want escapism & you all serve it up in boatloads! Bravo Dust! Bravo!

Looks good but the physics
If two ships of that mass travelling at anything approaching space travel speeds had a head on collision, everyone would die.
The energy release would be approaching that of a nuclear blast.

HOw can what's left of the crew have a meeting with no one WATCHNIG their trajectory< so they do not hit anything in surprise Miffed: : they did hit, themselves. again N again n again history will repeat itself till they learn

Let me begin by saying that I loved the ship the officer was flying. It was very different from many of the old tropes, yet it looked like it would actually function well. Good job! I'll be binging the series after this!

I'm gonna have to watch the entire series. Glad I found episode 1.
ANTHONY BONAVENTURA looks pretty buff for a guy living on a space police cruiser. Must have as weight room in that little ship of his.

reply

Great work, it’s quite obvious a lot of inspiration was taken from the Aliens franchise and Event Horizon but the overall quality is on par or better than a lot of recent Sci Fi horror movies.
reply

Kevin, you stole a little bit of music ideas from Weyland/Prometheus
4: 30 no space siut
He enters just like that without knowing nothing about that ship. smells like Hollywood script writers.

reply

Brilliant film but I would like to know is why he did enter the ship without a space suit I don't think he would've known the status of the life support systems, and it could a plague ship!
reply

I’m curious as to why he boarded an unresponsive vessel without an environmental suit, without checking for toxic leaks, hull breaches or a compromised life support system. just asking

Outstanding!
Was going to watch one and ended up doing all seven.
All the characters were well developed, outstanding on all points

PLEASE MAKE THIS AN ACTUAL SHOW, I would watch this every day of the week. We NEED a good space, Sci-fi blade runner esque style show on TV.
reply

I don’t understand what happened. It wasn’t made clear visually or otherwise. What was the cause and outcome of the accident
reply

So much for PROXIMITY ALERTS. other than that very well done. Every DUST short leaves me waiting for a resolution to a story.
