Evolution of the iMac

Apple just announced the new iMac, so it-s time for the Evolution of the iMac! The first iMac was actually not a big deal back then. Young people might not realise just how obscure Apple was before the iPod made them popular. I knew one kid in my entire school that used a Mac and everyone thought he was weird. I went to his place and thought the G3 looked cool but Apple was VERY niche back then. Then the iPod happened and then iPhone and that made them the huge company they are today. The Aluminium iMac didn-t have a 4: 3 display it had 16: 10 which is a ratio Apple still use on the MacBooks. The big bottom makes it look more square but the display was already widescreen already when the G4 came out. Only the G3 used 4: 3.\r\n

Still can-t wrap my head around his statement -the Macintosh was Apple-s first personal computer. - How can the first fact in a popular video be so wrong? The Apple II is one of the most famous personal computers of all time.
reply

Nicely produced video but a couple of minor corrections: the screen in the first iMac was a CRT (-Cathode Ray Tube-) - not -CTR- - and widescreen Macs have a screen ratio of 16: 10, not 16: 9.
reply

3: 42 It's CRT, not CTR! It went from the narration to the video, and even the captions weren't immune. Best correct yourself, and reupload the video with the right term this time!

fun fact my school has been using the slim unibody for it's music department this entire time and actually only on september this year did they actually decide to upgrade
reply

ahem. uhh- actually! -puts on nerd glasses- the first apple personal computer was actually the Apple I, which sold at $666. 66.
ok but seriously this was a great video

Kinda weird how the iMac G5-s design stuck around for over a decade, and while the m1 iMac changed things up a bit, it isn-t as drastic as the first 3 revisions of the iMac
reply

I am kind of surprised they kept the price around the same. It means they-re essentially putting that money out to keep it consistent
reply

They Might Give: iMovie for $1 Million, once they're down a Black Hole.
They Also Make, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro.
