Evolution of Sega Consoles

This is by far the most requested video on this channel! So enjoy! The Saturn suffered due to the early release mandated by Sega Of Japan, who is to blame. Had it been released in September, then the console would been able to compete. Because of the early release, only 3 games were available, as developers were waiting for the original launch date. Unfortunately, Sega of America shot themselves in the foot by releasing early, catching a lot of retailers off guard. The Saturn suffered, and the Dreamcast, another system with potential, would suffer the same fate and Sega exited the console market, never to return. Today Sega is a software developer, which is proving more successful. So despite the failures of both the Saturn and Dreamcast, Sega has come a long way since then.\r\n

I live in the U. S. and I got a Dream cast when it came out. I liked the system itself, but the problem was that It was impossible for me to buy games. The only games I could get were bootleg games from Japan -. Before I get the Dreamcast I had bought a Panasonic 3d0 and it was the same crap. When I bought a Nintendo game cube I couldn't find games either. Im glad that things have changed because Games can make or break a game system and it sucks to end up with a system that doesn't have a variety of games. When I was younger I was always trying to upgrade to the latest greatest game system and I paid for it.

This was the ERA of Android vs IOS. If more people prefer one over the other. There is nothing that can be done to sway them. Fan boy type mentality. More people liked Nintendo as opposed to Sega thus Nintendo won every round. That is. until Sony got into the game with the PS. Sales speak for themselves. Most people are committed to a brand they prefer as showcased in this video and it would be very difficult for any company to convince them to swtich. Just try talking to someone with an Iphone and trying to tell them to switch to Samsung. lol. It's near impossible.

I have 3 Sega system has a kid (Genesis, Game Gear & Dreamcast. Game Gear eat batteries like crazy. I have to sit next to the wall plug to play my games. I also have the Snes, Gameboy, PS1 & PS2 around this time. Dreamcast was definitely a cool system with all the Arcade port. Overall short but a very good library of games. Also the first system that you can play burned games without modchip: D

The Dreamcast was the first online ready game console, along with 4 controller ports and great graphics, easy to make and port games via it's Windows based OS, and a great memory card with it's own screen (great for playing NFL football. Great memories playing ChuChu Rocket and Quake III Arena online with others from around the world.

Man, the Dreamcast was so cool. It had so many features that made it amazing. This might be a hot take but maybe if it released during wii/ps3 era it could-ve done better due to the lower ps3 sales and the facts the all of the Dreamcast-s gimmicks would appeal to casual customers like the wii did. But I could be very wrong idk

Dreamcast was great. I remember when NFL 2K1 came out we were able to access our playbooks from the memory card so it wouldn't appear on screen if you were playing against someone. then Marvel vs Capcom and NBA 2K2. man there were so many dope games that came out on that console and I wish it would've been more successful

The Spy Who Loved Me(1977) is a good Roger Moore 007 film. In Ian Fleming's short story, Bond saves a woman living in Canada from two thugs. I don't like the scene where Caroline Munro is blown up for cheap laughs. Informative info on SEGA's history. They butted heads with Nintendo in the marketplace in 1991.

Now looking back the Saturn and Dreamcast we-re actually really great consoles. I remember seeing a friend with the Dreamcast and was amazed by it. But Sony was already hard to beat and already had committed users by then. So if you spend money on a PS it was unlikely you would get a Dreamcast.

Maybe they did thinkto complicated?
I like just solid made games with a solid, esthetic graphics like super mario world, megaman, street fighter -
But they try allways weird things, realisticslike graphics, not the best controllers -

I remember as a teenager in 99, my cousin got a Dreamcast for his birthday. I went over frequently to play and was impressed with the graphics and gameplay. But a year later when PS1 came out and I tried it, I knew Dreamcast was doomed -

For me, the mega drive will always be my favourite Sega console, as by the time the 16 bit ended I had decided to move on to the PlayStation N64.

The Master System Version Came Before The Genesis Version?

I know the Dreamcast system was built into arcade games for a while, although it wasn't a home system, but a more robust arcade setup.

When they made the SG-1000 MK II and III, they totally missed the opportunity to name them the SG-2000 and SG-3000 respectively

Sega's recent systems flopped so hard they never made anymore after the Dreamcast nowadays they're a Sonic game making machine.

I owned the Master system, Genesis and Saturn. I was a SEGA guy never a nintendo guy. But when Sony arrived they took that spot.
