Can we just agree that no true AC fans like the change into RPG? Sure it was kinda fun in Origins and also Origins' story was amazing but Odessey didn't focus on Assassins or Templars or Pieces of Eden or tried to be realistic in any way.
Why couldn't it be a spinoff? The fact that you are a demigod and can literally take no fall damage angers me so much because Assassin's Creed is supposed to be focused on real-life people and events, no game can be 100% realistic but this game utterly ruins any expectations of AC games being realistic and true to the first ones, like they should be.
The skill tree is even worse than in Origins because you can literally have god-like abilities and besides that, the fact that every piece of clothing has a rarity aswell angers me so much since unlike in Unity where you can kill any enemy with even the worst pieces of gear, in Odessey, the gear you wear actually matters and affects gameplay crucially! And dont even try matching up armor from different sets because it will look absolutely horendous unlike in Unity and Syndicate where basically any combination can look good.
I hope Mirage is an actual AC game like it's shown and like it should be even tho its still sad that you can teleport.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is easily my favourite, like, it's not even close. I have a holy trinity of the best open-world RPGs ever made and they are, in chronological order, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. They are the greatest open-world RPG masterpieces ever made IMO and I've been playing video games since the Atari 2600 was en vogue.
The game map of AC: Odyssey truly fit the Odyssey name because it is the largest game map that I've ever seen by a landslide that wasn't set in space. With the exception of Rhodes, the map was ALL of Ancient Greece, both mainland and islands. Visually, it is just breathtaking with Elysium being even more beautiful than the Duchy of Toussaint in Witcher III. That's really saying something because before AC: Odyssey, The Duchy of Toussaint was far and away the most beautiful setting for a video game that I had ever seen and it wasn't even close. Somehow, Elysium managed to just edge it out.

I absolutely adore this series. 2 being by far my favorite. That does also include the newer games, but honestly calling anything after Black Flag, and especially Origins and beyond, an -Assassin's Creed- game feels disingenuous. They are so good if you look at them as historical/mythological fiction games, but as -Assassin's Creed- games they really feel lackluster. A lot of the plot tying them into the overarching story feels so forced and shoehorned in. Not to mention the hard shift into ARPGs instead of stealth as the primary gameplay mechanics really make it feel like the games have lost their identity.
Again, I really do love the games, but I wish Ubisoft would release these historical epics as standalone titles and bring the Assassin's Creed franchise back to it's roots and possibly wrap up the story for good so that it can end gracefully instead of being bled dry for brand recognition like it is now.

The bext AC game for will always be the first one. Altair is a true assassin unlike the rest of the protagonists. Ezio, Connor, Edward, Shay, Victor, Alexios/Kassandra, Jacob/Eve, Bayek and Eivor became assassins only out of their onw will to have revenge(yes, story of Ezio is all about revenge, getting rich and pursue their own goals. Well Bayek can be considered as the founder of The Hidden Ones but all he wanted was to avenge the murder of his son. But despite all those facts I still love those games. So my top is oroginal AC, black flag, oddisey and unity.

Lol, gamers just like to whine. I stopped playing the assassins creed games after the third one because they were so damn repetitive. They finally mixed things up with origins so that got me back into them. I just dont know how people can play the same style of game for over a decade. The company did a smart thing and changed it up but now the people complaining before are now complaining it's different lol
I also dont understand how anyone can play those call of duty games, that whole genre is copy and paste with different character skins

Unpopular opinion but i cant stand the ezio trilogy. The story, setting and main character were good and i really enjoyed them at the time. but playing them again now, wow, the gameplay is absolutely aweful and theyre just a chore to play through. I recently tried going through the series again and had to force myself to finish 2 and gave up with brotherhood during the Banker mission and just skipped straight to 3, and actually enjoying playing the games now

I-m a Muslim from alamut sect I loved assassin-s creed but when I see the story of the game which isn-t truth or doesn-t match the reality it makes me sad cause most of the assassin were living in todays Iran and Afghanistan and they had very few missions in western seljuk empire, instead of focusing on Persia which was Iran and Afghanistan Ubisoft did something which wasn-t really interesting. This was the biggest disappointment for me.

I fell in love with this franchise when I played the first and original assassin's creed it was simple but it was the first open world game that I didn't feel like I was playing alone I like bumping into characters and they'd get pissed lol climbing buildings etc. It was really special. Now I'm playing black flags in Nintendo it's actually pretty good. -

People can say what they want about Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla. but for me. those game succeeded in their own ways.
Origins let you explore the history and culture of Ancient Egypt
Odyssey helped you embrace the life of a Spartan
Valhalla embraced the Old Norse culture and taught us much about Vikings and the Aesir

You forgot to mention the assassin's creed crossover side mission in watchdogs legion. That time, there was nobody reliving the life of an assassin. Just a present day member of the creed avenging her brother's death with the help of deadsec, and I want to see more watchdogs games as well.

idk man, liked Syndicate a lot personally.
The rope launcher, carriages and train were so cool.
Not to mention the brother / sister dynamic.
That said, it is the only AC title I've played most of through so there's that.
The previous one being Black Flag of course

The -SUPERNATURAL- card just goes out of the way for an -Assassin's Creed- game. We liked it when Assassins used to kill the enemies in a much natural way than using (MARVEL) Loki's Sceptre.

Up to the AC4, that was presenting the expansions and eventual success of the creed.
All games later were presenting the extensions of the creed to allow what happens from first AC game.

AC: Syndicate surprisingly is my favourite one of the series. Purely because as an Englishman, I get to explore a historically accurate version of my capital city
