Wow, I was expecting number 1 to be Donkey Kong Country (including 2 and 3 too).
I mean, you cant forget its style, it was amazing at the time for the SNES and still is today!!
One of the best looking games I've ever seen, combining with the immersive environment, beautiful music tracks and great sound effects, as a kid, when I got it I was mindblown by it, it looked different from anything else on the SNES!

Mark of Kri, Any of the Shin Magami Tensai games, Asura's Wrath, El Shaddai, Eternal Sonata, Odin Sphear, Oddworld(abe), Prince of Persia (360), Psychonauts, Rayman, and Layers of Fear. These are just some I can think of from my own collection with great art styles.

The problem with some of these games isn't really a problem with the games themselves but more of the pretentiousness of the people who play them exclusively or more than the average gamer.
