Well I haven't been able to use cheats in a game for awhile, but the way I'd always use em is to gain access to end game items early game on a second or third playthrough. I did this in RE3 Nemesis all the time after I initially beat it. Or in castlevania symphony of the night I would use my gameshark to max my luck only and get rare item drops much more easily than my first time. Or GTA San Andreas I simply used cheats that were fun, like infinite ammo... then bust out the rocket launcher and realize they never actually gave it a fire rate because it only has one round before reloading, therefore it shoots like a machine gun with extremely explosive rounds. With the exception of when I was a little kid I've only used cheats on second or third playthroughs. Essentially, cheats have only ever extended how long a game holds my interest.

When i cheat, for exemple in FO4 ( Whit a save before) its just to explore the possibilaties that i could do in the mission or place. I tried so many times to Mirv whit godmod (noreload) Moira on Megatown in FO3.. Shes just so annoying. Lol But yeah. Cheast are where since EVER. Since Sonic 1 since MK1 Since EVER. Even in Larry in Lizzard -something- on the 90's. Oh and Carmagedon so much fun when we complete the game and. Ok lets see what the developers did special for us. I honestly dont cheat before i break the main story game and just condened players who cheat in online games.. Its just too lame..

Invincibility was always a go-to cheat for me, unless there was a cheat to increase health/shields (so there would still be a risk of dying). I really don't know why, but i have a tendency to die a -lot- more often than most other players, and dying a lot -really- takes the fun out of a game for me.
My other necessary cheat was unlimited Force in Star Wars games. From what i saw in the films, a powerful Jedi never really got had to take a break from using the Force, so i thought making that an in-game mechanic was a bit continuity-breaking.

My underdeveloped motor skills along with my inability to handle very stressful situations and unwillingness to grind outside of just doing side missions made a part of my Borderlands 2 gameplay impossible for me. I asked in a forum for people to join me, but one user pointed me to a save editor, which made my borderlands 2 gameplay much easier and more enjoyable for me.

Personally I love the Phoenix cheat. Also known as new game plus. Keep all the items, maybe reset character progress but start the game from scratch with all items to find the missed things or just enjoy the stort

I love games that combine #1 and #2. A lot of fighting games and some of the older x-sports type of games, THPS comes to mind, did this. Beat the game with character x and unlock big head mode or low gravity, etc,.

I have angry issues and whenever something gets a bit to hard I get a little pissed off and go on a rampage but with cheats I could have fun instead shouting in the TV screen and damaging my heart.

-Jysdsod- or something was really hidden code in GTA SA and did something that long time ago in gta 3 and vice city was not in the idea to make it that way, but nowadays we see it a lot. :)

I think console games should include cheats for single player mode. It definitely would make the game more fun and increase replay value. That's why I mostly play pc games now.

Totally agree with this topic. I would like to play any game with god mode if I only want to experience the story or want to test if an especific-weapon-run is viable. Great video.
