Why is diablo immortal getting so much hate?

Diablo Immortal made quite a splash during Blizzcon, but not for the right reasons. Why are fans unhappy? Let's take a look Lilothyn: The problem was that any critic was called out as being [insert random buzzwords]. There were some loud and vile voices, yes, but a lot of people had valid criticism which was shut off, even by blizzard employees themselves.
Not only they couldn't -read the room-, as you aptly pointed out, but their general attitude, even for their other franchises, culminated with the massive disappointment. Diablo 4 had been scrapped and, as they said themselves, all the efforts were put into immortal. Who's to say that they didn't recall D4 to save face with the playerbase? The players had reasons to be concerned, especially when you look at Activision's influence.
Saying that the company owes us nothing is not strictly true, because a company without customers will simply cease to exist. For years they gave players an approximation to what they wanted, but times are changing... this was clearly blizz changing spec and forgetting to put points into accuracy at all.

lol....this is the second Gameranx video-comments section that I've read in the last 20 minutes overflowing with entitled toxicity because Gameranx refuses to hop on the pigpile. I am very content to be only a casual (!) member of this community. And...I sincerely believe it's THIS mentality, from the video game world, that bleeds into, say, film culture (which I very much DO give a shit about) and leads to an auteur like Rian Johnson getting crucified for making -The Last Jedi-. As if -fans- are -owed- anything from artists. Granted, what Blizzard creates isn't exactly -art- in the same sense what Rian Johnson creates is....but I digress. Toxicity's toxicity.

Honestly I'm out of the loop, for me I call games good when I like the story and the game play is decent. Just so you know where I stand games that are awesome in my book would be like Fallout 3, mass effect 2 an 3 (ending sucked but the journey was decent) farcry 3, Diablo 2, starcraft, see what's happening here? Does anyone remember like 10-15 years back when games were good? Big problems but then these shifty devs stay in power some how... All peeps from my generation see how games have de-evolve and the new gen thinks it's awesome(but what do they really care, they all play fortnite and nothing else) RIP The days of pride and passion.

One of the many reasons why Diablo Immortal is hate is because is a Mobile Game, and Mobile Games do not have a good reputation, and one of those bad reputations is that the only way to progress through a game is to dish out some cash which is a very bad practice in Mobile Game Companies.
Another reason is that Mobile Games are nearly impossible to record and people especially PC Gamers love to record their gameplays when they are playing the game, so Diablo Immortal being a Mobile Game, already screams impossible to record for many Diablo Fans.

I am not one of those core fanbases that shit on mobile games. I love a good mobile game because I LIKE to have a game to kill time with on the go. People are such entitled whiny little brats these days. I love Diablo and I will love Diablo on mobile. People act like Blizzard won't ever release another console/PC game. Reminds me of the idiots shitting on Bethesda, acting like FO76 is the end of single player games. It's not, they didn't market it as such, it's just idiots being idiots.

What bothers me a little bit is what they can do with the story in this game? And then we have the Book of Cain which talks about things that have happened in between Diablo 2 and 3. Will this game take away some of that or more important, how come Cain didn't write anything about 6 incredible heroes that fought hordes of demons and monsters in this time?
I hope the game will be good but it's still not what I wanted. Let's hope for a better anouncement in 2019.

-Corporations don't owe you anything-
Aaaaaaaaaaand you lost it right there, you forget that it's a two-way street. True, corporations aren't obligated to make what consumers want, but if consumers don't get want they want, they'll walk away and get it somewhere else. Thing is, it's the businesses that -need- the consumers not the other way around.
Free advice: don't take the corporations' side, that can only end badly.

Calling it Diablo 4 was their biggest mistake. Its not sequel. Its a Mobile version. That is never, -ever- a sequel. Mobile games are usually just viewed as (And most of the time rightly so!) cheap cash grabs.
Honestly this AAA to mobile game trend needs to chill the fk out or stop altogether.

I am a Blizzard All Fan and a Diablo fan and everything Blizzard. I was disappointed with their announcement because I don't play games on mobile except Hearthstone and don't want to play anything else. I hope they make a good continue-up to the main story in Diablo IV if there is a Diablo IV

-corporations don't owe you anything- well no, if you are their customer they owe you for spending your money for their services, in way that you should be satisfited by the products they made... not losing trust of them.
