I am usually a more careful and cautious type of player and that really helped me out in the stealth bits of the game so far. But when it's time to fight IT'S TIME TO TAKE OFF THE GLOVES AND FIGHT. You have to turn off the safety switch inside of you and dial up the aggression to 11 while also knowing when to block but also not letting your enemy's have time to recover. Relentless is the key word here. Never let your enemies breathe. Constant pressure while keeping an eye on your own stats and eventually you'll tire them out so you can get a big hit or you'll whittle them down until they finally fall.

I knew there was a reason I clicked on this video, way ahead of ya. Me and my buddy kept dying to that spear boss in the memory where you fight the Drunkard and Lady Butterfly. Then I noticed Miriki Counter in the Shinobi scroll. Mwuhahhahahaa. As soon I unlocked it I ran straight for old pokey boi. My buddy goes -You aren't going to try and get a sneak attack on him?-
Me: -Don't need it.- And several Mikiri counters later old pokey boi was another corpse boom Shaka laka

Instead of blocking, press the button constantly to make a parry, with that you will learn how to Parry and learn the attack patterns of the enemies and bosses.
Remember Sekiro parry is like rhythm you will learn it with time and practice.
Also combine attacks with the prosthetic tools and abilities, like using high monk with the flame axe. Or the Sakura dance with a prosthetic tool of preference and another combo. Give it time to learn it.

i was never able to beat genichiro even after restarting my game like 4 times and learning every mechanics as well as i could. i went in there with the firecracker and almost had him but at some point i ran out of resources for the firecrackers and had to farm and after that not working i just gave up on the game for that time. i never played the game again but i feel like the time will come soon.

Thanks for this. Just started playing Sekiro when I bought the GotY edition with my Christmas money (discounted so it was only 30 bucks) and I found it to be the hardest game I've ever played so far. These tips are of tremendous help.

maybe it's just me but after a few hours of playing , I realized you have to hold x to loot enemies....was trying to click for a really long time. Missed out on a lot of loot. IIRC I was at the chained orgre when I realized it.

When the game first came up I gave up and put it away. Now I-m back playing it in 2022 and damn I missed out when it first came out. The game is so good. But punishing hard.

I think the issue with number 3 & why people don't like using a lot of items in these games is because they dont respawn if you die. I dont necessarily mind it but it does get annoying at times lol

I feel like I-m the only one who has noticed but if you go back to fountainhead palace after beating the Divine Dragon, the nobles will be playing a different tune on the flute!
