the one that bugs me is when i'm knee deep in a boss fight, or like in the middle of a level, trying to complete this one part and another person is like, -aww, do you think you can put that down for a minute to do something productive like helping clean up the kithcen or something?- and i'm like -i'll do it after I complete this part- and they are like -what's so important about that , that you can't disengage for a few minutes- and i'm like -yeah, well, what's so important about the other thing that it can't wait for a few minutes until i finish this?-

Regarding DLC, the easiest way to describe it to non gamers I've found is to equate it to buying new parts for a car - it's a way to extend the life of the core thing so you don't have to spend more money on an entirely new similar thing later. DLC that's $5-15 will let me enjoy that game a bit longer so I don't have to shell out $60 for a new game the same way a $150 oil change and $240 set of tires keeps your car running a few more years so you don't need to pay out $24,000 for a new car. The numbers might be different but the concept is the same.

Happily married man with a 4 year old Son. Both my Wife, Son, and I are avid gamers that also work during our days. Gaming is expensive yo.
We need jobs to buy games and consoles. Plus the accessories that go with it.
It's also a fun thing to do with our son. My Wife and I enjoy it, so does our Son, so it becomes a family experience. He even enjoys watching Daddy or Mommy play. I've often sat my son on my lap while playing. I relish those times.

The -just a game- part. I understand that it is more than a game, but there are people who get so enraged that they break their controllers that they bought, take it out on other people in the room even though they weren't doing anything to them, punch and throw shit and are all around extremely pissed off like someone just hit their dog or something

Alright so... i came up with a solution for the guys who just say -bro is just a game why do you get frustated like that?- Put them to play mount and blade warband on easy. Let him make a army then if he goes to bathroom or does something besides PC or console set the campqning AI to hard and the damage to normal

im still a 13 yr old and my dad understands that he was a gamer himself in the 80s but my grandad is rlly like serious when it comes to a cricket match when hes watching it he curses its dosnt matter if im infront of him if a 4 yr old is infront of him he just starts cursing lol

I honestly don't understand people who just watch streams for hours without playing. I mean...there was a time where I was watching all kinds of esport events and stuff, but I've always been playing something while doing it...or eating.

The worst thing a non gamer has said to me was that-video games makes you aggressive instead of looking at the real reason why I am that way which can stem from being bullied and abused by toxic people
